Article by James Borges, detailing Peter Kelder’s “The Eye of Revelation”

The Five Rites are a form of simple stretches that among many things stimulate the gland of the body to increase in vitality and stamina. The Rites are not rigorous exercises. The Five Rites are simple postures that activate the body’s nervous system on the etheric level to restore optimal health. The glands are key components in the nervous system. George Crile shows in “The Phenomena of Life” (TPOL) how the glands govern the bodies electrical systems “It is at once clear that there is within the organism an energy-controlling system which is activated by the special senses primarily. Theoretically, this system would consist of the special senses, the brain, the adrenal-sympathetic system and the thyroid gland.” Ruth Drown suggests that the glands are conductors of ether or vital force. A very interesting book called “Hindu Secret of Virility and Rejuvenation” (HSOVR) published by The Basic Science Fellowship suggested the idea that each rite triggers a gland and stimulates it in a gentle manner. Dr. Drowns observations combined with this idea led to the conclusion that these rites develop the glands and thus the body’s ability to receive the vital force, or ether that is constantly descending into the brain and through the entire body via the glandular system as electricity.

The Five Rites as given by Peter Kelder do not refer to ether, glands, or chakras but simply to Vortexes. The connection of the vortexes to the glands is no mere coincidence; this is an ancient borderland science. The glands and the nerve plexus are the physical manifestations of the chakras. I imagine the colorful wheels depicted in mythology are descriptions of the fields viewed through highly developed senses that can perceive the ether. Rudolf Steiner describes such sense development. That the glands are radiating energy we know from the radio, electric interpretation of life as developed by George Crile, “Evolution probably seized upon the factors that have the power of shifting the amount of radiation toward the short wave field, hence increasing the amount of electricity generated. Thus, an increase in the electrical charge up increases the muscular and glandular activity of the animal.” The Five Rites seem to enhance the ability to shift the amount of short wave radiation toward the short wave field. ‘We see a glimpse of the etheric/electric transmutation taking place within the Vortex. The Five Rites stimulate the entire “energy-controlling system”, the body’s ability to receive vital force is enhanced.

The correspondence between the Vortexes and the key organs of the “energy-controlling system” is demonstrated in Figure One.

There are seven Psychic Vortexes in the body: Vortex “A” is located within the forehead; Vortex “B” is located in the posterior part of the brain; Vortex “C” is in the region of the throat at the base of the neck; Vortex “D” is located in the right side of the body above the waist line; Vortex “E” is located in the reproductive anatomy, and is directly connected with Vortex “C” in the throat; Vortexes “F” and “G” are located one on either knee.

Vortex “A” is the pineal gland.

Vortex “B” is the pituitary gland. The pituitary is a very small gland, it is about the size of a pea. Its situation is within the head at the base of the brain about midway from front to back. Its condition has a marked influence on the gonads.

Vortex “C” is the thyroid gland. This gland is in the neck, just above the collar bones. It is closely related with every action which takes place in the pelvic, it stimulates the adrenals and the gonads as well.

Vortex “D” is the Liver and the Adrenal Cortex. The liver maintains a function which is essential to the life and activity of the cells of the brain and adrenal cortex.”

Vortex “E” is the gonads and ovaries. The sex glands or glands of reproduction (in the male) are called gonads. They are closely interlocked with
every other function of the human body.

Vortexes “F” and “G” are very mysterious and relate to the muscular aspects of the rites.

Using the correspondences we can take a look at the rites to observe their function on the glands.

Rite #1

Stand erect with arms outstretched. horizontal with the shoulders. Now spin around until you become slightly dizzy. There is only one caution: you must turn from left to right. (Figure 1)

Effects: It seems that whirling stimulates into great activity vortexes “A”, “B”, and “E”. These have a stimulating effect in the other two “C” and “D”. This first rite seems to be the one that awakens all the vortexes but primarily stimulates the pineal / pituitary glands in the head, in turn activating the generative glands. “The pituitary is a very small gland; it is about the size of a pea. Its situation is within the head at the base of the brain about midway from front to back. Its condition has a marked influence on the gonads.” (HSOVAR)

The thyroid in the neck is also activated along with the liver and adrenal glands.

Both Vortexes “A” and “B” are in the brain, which plays a most vital role in the acquisition of energy. It is no wonder the skull has often been thought to be the challis of vital force. “Since in a bipolar mechanism, the electrical current must flow from areas of higher to areas of lower potential, it is necessary to cite such facts as may tend to support the conception that the cells of the brain are the principle source of the electric energy that coordinates the body and to show how the direction of the fabricated current is established.” (TPOL) In Ruth Drown’s conception of the ether the brain is the main receiver of the ether, which is descending or emanating into the physical world constantly creating and recreating the body. There is a mysterious connection between ether and electricity. Electricity has been considered as decayed ether by many borderland scientists in the past few decades. The brain points to the mysterious connection between the ether and electricity. “The electric current, therefore, would pass from the highest potential within the cells through the zones of lower potential in the axons and nerves toward the points of lowest potential in the glands and muscles to be stimulated.” (TPOL)

The activation of Vortex “C” at the neck, stimulates the thyroid glands. “In the higher terrestrial animals the rise of the thyroid gland coincides with the rise of mental and bodily energy.” (TPOL) BV simple stimulation the glands will release energy and begin to recreate a larger supply for the next demand. This way each simple short routine gradually builds up a huge force over time. It cannot be rushed. It is a slow gradual toughing and rejuvenation of the limbs of the tree of life. We will find more on information on Vortex “C” when we look at the Fifth Rite.

The region of Vortex “D” contains the liver. “…The liver maintains a function which is essential to the life and activity of the cells of the brain and adrenal cortex.” This rite awakens this vortex slowly; it will become much more activated later.

Rite #2

Lie flat on the back on a rug. Then place the hands flat along side the hips. Fingers should be kept close together with the fingertips of each hand turned slightly toward one another. The feet are then raised until the legs are straight up. If possible, let the feet extend back a bit over the body, toward the head but do not let the knees bend. Then slowly lower the feet to the floor and for a moment allow all muscles to relax. Then perform this rite all over again.

Effects: Further stimulating into action the Seven Vortexes.

HSOVAR: Primarily this simple movement cares for the distended abdomen from which so many suffer and which is the cause of so much loss of vitality and virility. The region most affected by this movement is the muscle sheath covering the lower abdomen. The second rite influences the hardening process of the abdominal walls.

Rite #3

Kneel on rug, place hands on things, and lean forward as far as possible with the head inclined so that the chin rests on the chest. Now lean back as far as possible; at the same time the head should be lifted and thrown back as far as it will go. Then bring the head up along with the body. Lean forward again and start the rite all over.

Effects: This rite is very effective in speeding up vortexes “A”, “D”, and “C”, especially “E”.

HSOVAR: “…it strengthens those spinal erector muscles that have so important a function in guarding vital nerve centers and procreative sources.”

The third rite is for the small of the back and all the procreative forces housed within the pelvic girdle. We see physically how this rite builds up the pelvic region. It is in the head movements that stimulate Vortex “C” the thyroid gland. Vortex “D” is stimulated by the combination of the head movement with the stimulation of the pelvic region and lower back. Vortex “D” is the liver and the adrenal glands.

George Crile demonstrates a connection between the thyroid gland, the adrenal gland and gonads in the pelvic region. “The Thyroid. This is not in the pelvic region at all, but in the neck, just above the collar bones. But it is closely related with every action which takes place in the pelvic never the less, for it stimulates the adrenals and the gonads as well.” (TPOL) By gentle stimulation the Five Rites transform and vitalize the glands and organs of the body. Vortex “D”, the liver and adrenals that are interdependent upon each other for their growth are strengthened. “… The liver maintains a function which is essential to the life and activity of the cells of the brain and adrenal cortex.” (TPOL) The etheric formative forces that are constantly reconstructing our bodies can flow much easier through a body that has utilized the Five Rites to increase vitality. “As the liver is an organ with a very high functional activity its semi permeable membranes also are rapidly broke up and have to be replaced, and it also may depend upon some other organ for the essential lipid molecules.’S7e postulate therefore that these molecules for the semi permeable membranes of the cells of the body might well be supplied by the adrenal cortex. The liver in part and the ductless glands in part maintain the structure of the cells.” (TPOL)

Rite #4

Sit on the rug with feet stretched out in front. Then place the hands along side the body. Now raise the body and bend the knees so that the legs, from the knees down, are practically straight up and down while the body, from the shoulders to the knees will be horizontal. Before pushing the body to a horizontal position the chin should be well down on the chest. Then as the body is raised the head should be allowed to drop gently backward as far as it will go. Next, return to a sitting position and relax for a moment before repeating the procedure. When the body is pressed up to the complete horizontal position these every muscle in the body.

Effects: This will have a tendency to stimulate vortexes “F”, “G”, “E”, and “C”.

HSOVAR: “…It stimulates all the vital sources, reactivates the glands, tones up the muscles which surround the pelvic girdle and helps, put you in good condition all over.”

The fourth rite stimulates all the procreative forces and reaches the lumbar region of the spine. Vortexes “F” and “G” have far reaching energetic potentials. Stability is imparted from the knees, but the stain on the muscles creates a huge electrical reaction. Placing the chin on the chest again stimulates Vortex “C” This tones the gland and causes a secretion of its hormone which gives the body an increase in energy. “The sources of sustained energy are primarily the hormone of the thyroid gland.” (TPOL)

Rite #5

Place the hands on the floor about two feet apart. Then, with the legs stretched out to the rear with the feet also about two feet apart, push the body, especially the hips, up as far as possible, rising on the toes and hands, at the same time the head should be brought so far down that the chin comes up against the chest.

Next, allow the body to come down to a ‘sagging’ position. Bring the head up, causing it to be drawn as far back as possible.

HSOVAR: The tucked head has an important effect on the glands in the front of the neck. This rite exerts a stimulating effect on the muscles surrounding the small of the back, the great nerve centers, and cause a gentle stimulation to pass through all the procreative sources. The fifth rite stimulates the entire pelvic basin, the gonads, the thyroid, the thymus, and the pituitary gland.

The fifth rite stimulates Vortex “C” in the most efficacious manner. While all the vortexes are spinning, one supporting the other, we can glimpse the subtle energy works of the human body. George Crile, that pioneer of borderland science, showed that the thyroid gland was indeed the master key to the subtle electrical nature of man. “The unique effect of their thyroid hormone upon mental and emotional activity can now be explained be the demonstrated fact that the thyroid hormone increases the percentage of radiation in the short wave or ionization field and the immediate effect of this would be the of increasing the electrical potential of the brain. This increased electrical potential would confer upon the brain a corresponding increase of mental and emotional power.” Our experience of life, all our emotions and mental process are dependent upon electricity. That subtle electricity that comes into the glands from the ether as it passes through the nervous system of the living being. “In the higher terrestrial animals the rise of the thyroid gland coincides with the rise of mental and bodily energy.” (TPOL) The stronger we can make Vortex “C” the more electricity we can generate in our bodies. “The thyroid secretion through its control of oxidation governs the electrical conductivity, electric capacity, and electrical potential of the tissues; that is, the thyroid gland governs the capacity of the organism for work.” (TPOL)

“We may then sum up this consideration of brain thyroid gland corroboration in shifting the short wave reaction of the brain as follows, (a) The Thyroid hormone specifically increases the percentage of short wave radiation, (b) This increase in short wave radiation is due to the effect of the thyroid hormone on nitrogen metabolism. (c) As the thyroid hormone shifts the wave emissions toward the short or powerful end of the spectrum, and as the brain and nervous tissue are especially affected by the thyroid hormone, it would appear to follow that the brain and other units of the nervous system are speeded by the thyroid hormone. (d) Man has a relatively larger thyroid gland than any other animal, and greater mental, emotional, and physical activity. He owes these characteristics to the relatively large development of the brain, which, collaborating with the thyroid gland, produces the required amount of powerful short wave radiation.

Vortex “C” receives attention in all five rites. Its ability to radiate energy to the brain and other parts of the nervous system is the key to the subtle energy works of the human body.

The great secret of the Lamas was rediscovered by George Crile: “The state of mind and the state of consciousness are a result of radiation and electrical potential.” The Eye of Revelation by Peter Kelder is not just a fairy tale but a transmission of an ancient electrical, etheric technology. By practicing the Five Rites one seems to have the potential of increasing their bodies ability to capture, create, and use the vital forces that underlie the amazing field of vibrations we call life. The Vortexes are the spinning etheric substance underlying the electrical activity of the brain and glands. These rites work on the very foundations of our beings.

The EYE OF REVELATION is upon the world.

Peter Kelder’s “EYE OF REVELATION: The Original Five Rites of Rejuvenation”: The amazing account of the Five Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation and how they were brought from a monastery in the Himalayas to the United States in the 1930s. It’s the story of a British Army Colonel in his late 60s, who, after retirement, decides to track down persistent rumors of a “Fountain of Youth” that he heard while stationed in India. He returns 4 years later, completely transformed. Now, in his early 70s, he appears and acts like a man of 35! He claims that these rites are all that is needed to reverse the aging process. The “Five Rites” are simple practices which anyone, young or old, can easily accomplish in 10 minutes a day, to activate and balance the body’s vital energy!

Article from Chamber’s Journals, No. 115, Vol. V, New Series, March 14, 1846 — transcribed by Ralph Cameron for Journal of Borderland Research (Vol. 54, No. 2, 2nd Quarter 1998)

Baron von Reichenbach’s Experiments

Chamber’s Journals

No. 115, Vol. V, New Series, March 14, 1846.

WE were made aware, some time ago, that a German periodical, devoted to chemistry had presented last summer a long and carefully prepared paper, detailing certain experiments of Baron Reichenbach of Vienna respecting hitherto undescribed phenomena-connected with magnetism. We were informed that conducted as they had been by a rigidly scientific investigator, and one whose writings were statements of dry facts, they might be considered as entitled of respectful notice; and yet they were of such a nature as we have been accustomed to regard with the greatest suspicion.

They appeared in short, as tending toward the domain of animal magnetism, and yet as promising to bring that theme of marvels within the scope of exact science. This is a subject, of course, on which curiosity will be greatly excited; and we are therefore glad to obtain an opportunity of conveying some account of it to our readers, in consequence of the appearance of a very readable abstract of Reichenbach’s papers in the Dublin Quarterly Journal of Medical Science.

The writer sets out as follows, strictly following, we believe, the statements of the Viennese chemist, but condensing his language: If the poles of a strong magnet, capable of supporting a weight of about ten pounds, be passed over the bodies of fifteen to twenty persons, there will always be some individuals among them who are affected by it in a very peculiar way. The number of such persons is greater than generally supposed. Of the above number, there will be three or four at least. The nature of this impression on sensitive persons, who in other respects may be looked upon as perfectly healthy, is not easily described, being rather disagreeable than pleasant, joined with a slight sensation, now of cold, and now of heat, as if the person were blown upon by a cold or lukewarm current of air. Sometimes they feel contractions in the muscles and a prickling sensation, as if ants crawled over the body; many persons even complain of sudden headaches. Not only women but even young men are sensible to this influence; in young children, the sensation is often very strong. Susceptibility amongst the healthy, however, is strongest in sedentary persons and those suffering from secret grief and deranged digestive organs. Persons afflicted by nervous complaints as epilepsy, catalepsy, hysteria, and paralysis are peculiarly sensitive, and still more so are lunatics and somnambulists.

To pursue the abstract of our Dublin contemporary: Actually or apparently healthy, sensitive individuals discover, in their relation to the magnet, nothing besides the sensation just described. But the case is very different with the sick sensitive. Its action on them is sometimes agreeable, sometimes unpleasant – often disagreeably painful to such a degree that fainting, cataleptic fits and spasms, at times violent and sometimes dangerous, ensue, according to the nature and degree of their disease. In this latter class, to which the somnambulists also belong, an extraordinary increase takes place in the sensitiveness of the senses. The patient sees, tastes and feels better than others and often hears what is said in the next room. This is however a fact well known and is not by any means unnatural.

The hypothesis that the aurora borealis is an electrical phenomena, produced by the magnetism of the earth, the real nature which is at present unknown, owing to our not having been as yet able to detect an emanation of light from the magnet, led Reichenbach to try persons, in a state in which the senses were thus sharpened, could detect such an emanation from the poles of a magnet.

He was enabled to make trial on a young woman named Nowotny, aged twenty five, who suffered from continual headache, accompanied by catalepsy and spasms. So sensitive was she that she could distinguish all things in her room, and even the colour of objects, on a dark night. The magnet acted on her with extraordinary force; and though by no means a somnambulist, she was equally sensitive with one.

The experiment was made in a perfectly dark room. At the distance of about ten feet from the patient was placed a horse shoe magnet of nine plates [a magnet of nine plates of alternate metals, bent into a horse shoe form, so as to make the ends or poles approach], and weighing about 80 pounds, with its poles directed toward the ceiling.

Whenever the armature of this magnet [a piece of iron, clapped upon the poles of the magnet] was removed, the girl saw both poles of the magnet surrounded by a luminosity, which disappeared whenever the armature was connected with the poles. The light equally large on both poles and without any apparent tendency to combine. The magnet appeared to be immediately encircled by a fiery vapour, which was again surrounded by a brilliant radiant light. The rays were not still but continually flickered, producing\cuing a scintillating appearance of extreme beauty. The entire phenomena contained nothing which could be compared to a common fire; the colour was much purer, almost white, sometimes mixed with iridescent colours, and the whole being more similar to the light of the sun than to that of the common fire. The rays were not uniformly bright: in the middle of the edges of the horse shoe they were more crowded and brilliant than at the angles, where they were collected into tufts, which extended further out than the other rays.

The light of the electric spark she considered much bluer. It left an impression on the eye similar to, but much weaker than, that left by the sun, and which did not disappear for several hours, and was transferred to all substances upon which she looked for some time in a painful manner.

Reichenbach endeavored to verify these results by trials on other persons, particularly a woman named Reichel, who was rendered sensitive in consequence of an accidental hurt, but was nevertheless healthy. In her case the appearance of the light along the four longitudinal edges of each plate composing the magnet was extremely curious, even where the edges of two contiguous plates fitted one another exactly; and where one would think rays of light given off from each plate must necessarily merge into one another at their bases, they could be distinguished with great accuracy. Reichenbach, in order to be certain that there was actual light given off in these cases, made some very careful experiments with the daguerreotype, the result of which was that an iodized plate was acted upon when placed opposite the poles of a magnet. He was also able to concentrate it with a lens; but the focal length was found to be fifty four inches, while, for a candle is was only twelve inches. He could discover no action of heat with the most delicate thermoscope. In some cases the patients declared they could see the surrounding objects by means of this light, and that any substance stopped its passage, as it would ordinary light, thus, for example, when the hand was placed before the poles, it streamed through the fingers. From the similarity of this light, in many respects to the aurora borealis, Reichenbach considers them identical. We may add here, from another source, that the Baron contrived to subject his patients an effectual test in these lens experiments; for he caused the lens to be shifted about, and the theoretically proper place for the focus on the opposite wall was invariably and at once pointed out.

Continuing his abstract, the Dublin journalist says: from the observations of Petelin, made at Lyons in 1788, and which were afterward verified by many others, we know that, in catalepsy, the hand is capable of being attracted by a powerful magnet, just like a piece of iron, and as, Mesmer observed, that water, over which a magnet had been several times passed, can be distinguished from ordinary water, by sensitive patients. Reichenbach has fully verified these facts in a large number of persons. He found that this effect took place not only during perfect catalepsy, but even afterwards, when the persons were in full possession of their senses. Miss Nowotny described the sensation to him as an irresistible attraction, which she felt obliged to obey, although against her will: that is was a pleasant feeling combined with a cool gentle aura, which flowed over the hand from the magnet, the former feeling as if tied and dawn to the latter by a thousand fine threads; and that she nothing similar to it in ordinary life, it being a peculiar indescribable feeling of refreshing and extraordinary pleasure, particularly if the magnet attracted the right hand and was not too strong.

He did not however verify Thilorier’s observation that nervous patients can convert needles into magnets and he considers in fact the attraction of the hand by the magnet to be of a totally different nature from that between iron and the magnet. This opinion we shall see verified further on.

We have had no instance hitherto of the form or arrangement of the molecules of the body rendering it capable of it exerting force on other bodies at a distance; but Reichenbach, by a series of experiments on magnetic water that is, water over which a magnet had been several times passed, was led to suppose that other bodies could, in all probability, be also rendered magnetic. This he soon found to be the case in a less or greater degree; but he also observed that many substances, which were never in contact with a magnet, affected the nerves and by extending his experiments he arrived at the law that amorphous bodies possess no power similar to that possessed by the magnet, but that crystals are capable of producing all the phenomena resulting from the action of a magnetic on cataleptic patients. This is true however, only of single perfect crystals and not of an agglomeration of crystals, such as lump sugar. Thus, for instance, a large prism of rock crystal, placed in the hand of a nervous patient affects the fingers so as to make them grasp the crystal involuntarily and shut the fist.

This power is not equally distributed over every part of the surface of the crystal, but is found to concentrate in two points or poles corresponding to the principal axes of the crystal. Both poles were found to act similarly, but one was generally somewhat stronger than the other, with the exception that one gave out a cool and the other a gentle lukewarm aura. Notwithstanding the apparent resemblance of the magnetic powers in crystals to ordinary magnetism, Reichenbach satisfied himself that there is a difference, because crystals do not attract iron filings, or affect the compass or needle. It appears that the ordinary magnetic power is of two kinds, one of which is this peculiar power resident in crystals and in the living body.

The learned chemist also found that a charge of this power, can be communicated to bodies, as is the case with a charge of electricity. The readiness with which the situation of the poles could be detected by those sensible to their influence, was striking. Many of the patients could detect all the ores, even in the most complicated crystalline forms, with unerring accuracy, by their effects on them as of course it is unnecessary to observe, they could have no knowledge of crystallography. By extending his experiments he soon discovered that the poles of a crystal gave out light exactly as the magnet does. Miss Sturman described it as a tulip formed flame blue at the base, passing off to perfect white at the top, with scattered rays or stripes of a reddish colour, passing upward from the blue toward the white. The flame scintillated and flickered and threw on the support on which the crystal rested, for a space of about 18 inches all around, a certain degree of brightness. Miss Reichel describes the flame similarly but in addition she saw a peculiar star-like light in the interior of the crystal, which evidently resulted from reflection, produced by the structure of the mineral. It may be necessary to remark that, in order to observe these phenomena, the room must be perfectly dark, and the crystal very large, not less, at least than eight inches thick, and proportionately long. Smaller crystals will however, answer with exceedingly sensitive persons.

The curious results produced on cataleptic patients which we have already mentioned, excited some attention in the last century, and it was soon found that similar results could be produced, without a magnet, by the hand alone. It was impossible from the then state of physical science, to show the connection between these phenomena and the ordinary physical ones of the magnet; and the subject was therefore passed over by philosophers, and gradually grew into disrepute, principally by the use made of it by Mountebanks, and from the unsuitable name – animal magnetism – which it received. From the similarity of some of the phenomena observed by Reichenbach, with those described by the elder magnetisers, he was led to think they might be the results of the same cause. As a magnet affects the human body, he thought that the magnetism of the earth cannot be without some influence of a similar kind, and in this he was not mistaken, for he found that in all positions that a nervous invalid can lie or sit, the best is in the magnetic meridian, with the head toward the north; the opposite direction is not quite so good; but the worst possible is at right angles to the magnetic meridian, with the head toward the west. He found that patients placed in the first position slept better at night, suffered less from headaches, and in general found themselves much better; while, with the head toward the west, the same patients suffered greatly, their pulse increased in frequency, hectic fever often resulted catalepsy was sometimes occasioned; but the moment the patient was restored to the first position, all these symptoms ceased and were in general replaced by an agreeable feeling of well being. In some of the cases which were tried, the most extraordinary effects were produced on the patient by this change of position, and he hence concluded that the various and contradictory effects which have been attributed to the application of electricity and magnetism to the cure of diseases, have arisen from the neglect of the influence exerted by the magnetism of the earth on the patients; and to the same cause he also attributes the little success which has hitherto attended the treatment of nervous diseases.

In extending his experiments, he found that soft iron, which loses its magnetism when removed from the inductive power of a magnet, does not lose the power of acting on the nerves; and he hence concludes that magnetism, properly so called, is perfectly distinct from this new power, as we have already seen in other instances, when speaking of the crystal. We have also mentioned that bodies placed in contact with a crystal or magnet, such as water, etc., became possessed of the same power of affecting the nerves of those bodies and could be distinguished from portions of the substances not magnetised. But we have now to learn that the same properties can be communicated to the human body; or in other words, that a man rubbed, or in mere contact with a magnet or crystal, is capable of producing the same affect as the nerves on those bodies; nay more, that a man has these properties even when he has not touched a magnet or crystal; in fact, that we are a source of this peculiar power ourselves. It is unnecessary to give here the mode in which he arrived at this remarkable conclusion, as the experiments are all similar to those made with the magnet and crystal – a man merely being substituted for these latter. Like them, the hand produces an aura, attracts the limbs of cataleptic patients, and communicates a charge to other bodies, which, as in the case of the magnet and crystal, disappears again in a short time; and is capable of passing through all bodies, is little influenced by the magnetism of the earth and like them, is polar, the principal axis being across the body, the ends of the fingers being the poles. The head and genitals very likely form secondary poles.

But the most extraordinary part of the whole investigation is that the tops of the fingers of healthy men continually give off tufts of light, just as the poles of crystals, while those of women give of none or at most appear slightly luminous. The patients who were able to observe these phenomena described the flame as being from one to four inches long, according as if they were more or less sensitive and of an extremely beautiful appearance.

Baron Reichenbach has also attained what he considers as conclusive evidence that magnetism exists in the sun’s light. All bodies exposed for a time to sunlight retain a magnetic light for sometime after. One of his experiments is so curious that we shall give it a try here: To a piece of thick copper wire, about thirty feet long, he fastened a piece of sheet copper, about nine inches square. The end of this wire was placed in the patient’s hand and the plate exposed to the direct rays of the sun outside the window. This was scarcely done, when an exclamation of intense pleasure, was heard from the patient; she instantly felt the peculiar sensation of warmth, which gradually spread from her arm to her head. But in addition to this, she described another and hitherto totally unknown sensation; namely, a feeling of extreme well being, as the patient said, similar to the sensation produced by a gentle May breeze. It flowed from the end of the wire to the arm and spread itself over the whole body, producing a sensation of coolness the patient feeling at the same time strengthened and refreshed. In some of his experiments, Reichenbach substituted various bodies and among them a man for the plate of copper and still obtained the same results. What is extremely curious, the yellow part of the ray of light produces an agreeable and refreshing feeling while the violet part causes the disagreeable feeling sometimes experienced from the cation of the magnet and this violet part we know to be that at which the greatest chemical action takes place. In heat, friction and artificial light the baron found various modifications of the same surprising effects.

It equally appears, in every case of chemical action, even where it consists of nothing more than the water of crystallization, with a salt or mere solution of a body in some solvent, this power is set free. If we recollect, says our journalist, how manifold are the circumstances under which chemical action takes place on the earth, we will be able to see what an inexhaustible source of this power must be. In the animal body there is series of such changes continually going on; we eat food, it is digested in the stomach and converted into blood which is again further changed into muscle, fat, etc. and these in turn are again decomposed to yield fuel for animal heat and motive power. This continual chemical action is therefore the generator of the peculiar force which we find developed in man, as in the magnet and crystal. But not only does the chemical action going on in the living body generate this power, but the decomposition which ensues immediately after death is also an abundant source of it. Reichenbach, on going into church graveyards, on dark nights, with some of his patients, discovered that graves were always covered by a lurid phosphorescent glow, about six or eight inches high, and in one case Miss Reichel saw it four feet in height in a graveyard in Vienna where a large number of persons were daily buried. When she walked through this graveyard, the light reached up to her neck, and the whole place appeared covered with some dense misty luminous fog. This the Baron conceives, explains in a very satisfactory manner the appearance of light and ghosts etc. which have been observed over graves.

After thus discovering several sources of the power, Reichenbach was led to the detection of it, in a certain measure, in all bodies whatever. From this flowed some observations, the curious nature of which must be our apology for borrowing so largely from our contemporary. Every one says he is aware that there is a large number of persons upon whom certain substances have a certain peculiar effect, generally of a disagreeable kind, which sometimes appears to be absurd and ridiculous, and is often attributed to eccentricity; thus there are some who cannot bear to touch fur, others who do not like to see feathers; nay some who cannot bear the look of butter.

The invariable nature of this feeling and the similarity of circumstances attending its existence among the most different races, and in the most distant countries, led Reichenbach to examine it closer, and he found that these antipathies occurred, for the most part, among persons apparently healthy, but more or less sensitive, and that they increase in degree, according as persons suffer from nervousness, etc. and that hence, hence, there was evidently some connection between these sensations and the effects he had in so many instances found to attend the action of magnetic crystals, and on similar persons.

We have already seen that in certain cases the action of the crystal was attended by a disagreeable feeling, which sometimes produced painful spasmodic affections of the limbs; and that this property could be could be communicated to various bodies, though in different degrees; and it is never totally absent from bodies which form perfect crystals. On this subject, we have however, said enough; and it only remains to say a few words on the sensation of apparent difference of temperature, the disagreeable feeling, as it were of disgust, and the apparent mechanical agitation of darting pains through the body, sometimes produced by most dissimilar substances. Some of these sensations were felt by healthy persons, but highly sensitive individuals felt them all more or less strongly, according the nature and extent of their disease.

On making a number of experiments on the most different substances, he arrived at the conclusion that all amorphous bodies which do not possess the peculiar power resident in crystals, possess, in different degrees, according to the nature of the body, and with a great degree of constancy, the property of giving rise to disagreeable sensations, sometimes accompanied by heat and sometimes by a feeling of coolness. In the crystal we had a power depending on the state of aggregation, or form, while in the case before us, the nature of the substance is the determining cause of some dynamical effect of another kind.

Many curious observations remain, but our space is exhausted. Most readers, we think, will join us in wishing the experiments of the Viennese philosopher should be repeated and be subjected to every imaginable test, as in the first place they seem worthy of these pains; and, in the second, it is impossible to receive such extraordinary matters into the book of science without the strongest of attainable proofs. It would now, we think, be wrong to treat such things with the indifference of mere incredulity. It is far from likely that so many persons as have now testified to peculiar effects of a zoo-magnetic nature, should have been entirely mistaken, or altogether possessed by a spirit of deception. Nor is there any improbability that we are tending toward the discovery of some new form of the imponderables, in which the human organization is strangely concerned and which therefore promises to possess medicative power. Where a prospect, however shadowy, holds out so much temptation, men will venture to follow it and surely it were well for a few genuine men of science to go into the inquiry, if only to prevent the multitudes of the unlearned from breaking their heads upon it. It sometimes appears to us as if the spirit of incredulity overreached itself; and perhaps there is an instance here. Forty six years ago, many cures by magnets, called “metallic tractors” were announced: they were suddenly quashed by two physicians, who simulated the application but used bits of wood and iron disguised as “tractors” instead. What, however, if it should prove that the cures were real cures in both cases, only produced by a cause different from the tractors and which resided in the bodies of the operators and connected with an earnest exertion of the will in both cases? Things as strange have happened.

“Your Body’s Many Cries for Water” by Fereydoon Batmanghelidj M.D.
(cover for 2002 ed.)

RARE indeed are those books destined to become all-time classics. Even rarer are books destined to accomplish a paradigm shift in any major area of modern knowledge. Of still greater rarity are books destined to benefit significantly the health of countless millions of human beings, at no cost to them. Such a landmark book is “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water” by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj. He is a London-educated Iranian medical doctor who has made revolutionary discoveries about the water metabolism of the human body. His astounding basic breakthrough was made while he was confined to a Tehran prison, this being a unique circumstance in itself.

Dr. Batmanghelidj is of aristocratic lineage in his native Iran, and when the Shah was overthrown, the doctor was arrested and jailed with more than 3,000 other well-born victims of the Khomeini revolution. While these unfortunates wore awaiting execution, Dr. Batmanghelidj was assigned as their medical officer — pending his own appearance before a firing squad. He had no medical resources other than water, in an environment pervaded by stress and terror. Indeed, the doctor found himself incarcerated in a gigantic stress laboratory.

This became the milieu in which fundamental discoveries were made regarding the medicinal and functional value of water. These are discoveries that have eluded giant medical trusts, vast hospital complexes, battalions of medical professors, universities that boast about their sophisticated research facilities, and all the vaunted resources of the pharmaceutical industry. None of them, or indeed, all of them combined, were capable: of penetrating to the bedrock of human health: adequate daily water intake.

Without realizing it initially, Dr. Batmanghelidj was working with clinical controls in place. Prison discipline enabled him to follow up his patients, who had no possibility of evasion. Forced to use water medicinally, and water alone, Dr. Batmanghelidj was astonished in following up his patients, to find that water was effecting full cures of diverse, normally ineradicable diseases. These cures occurred in a complete fashion not seen in response to medication, which “treats” or “controls” such recalcitrant and diverse diseases as asthma, arthritis, high blood pressure and ulcers. Official medicine has only palliatives for these conditions, not cures.

If such diseases do not bother you personally, just ask anyone so afflicted how frustrating it is to be perpetually treated but never cured, by doctors who are manifestly flummoxed by such diseases. This bafflement and medical inability to effect cures is almost universal in orthodox medicine, and largely accounts for the stupendous and ever-mounting cost of medical care. People get treated, not cured. They are not cured because the basic cause of their diseases is not known to classical medicine. America harbors and husbands a vast army of people receiving medical “treatment”.

Dr. Batmanghelidj was blessed by a first class medical training at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School of London University, one of the most respected medical schools in the western world. He was one of the last students of the eminent discoverer of penicillin, Sir Alexander Fleming. Thus steeped in classical orthodoxy, Dr. Batmanghelidj was totally embarrassed to find that water was doing in a dependable way, what medication had never been able to do. In his classical medical training, like orthodox doctors world-wide, Dr. Batmanghelidj was taught that it was the solid material in the body (the solute) that was important. Only an incidental status was assigned to the solvent aspects of the human body — to water.

Irrefutable clinical experience in the controlled prison environment, forced the doctor to conclude that conventional medicine — of which he was himself a product — was hobbled and handicapped by a false paradigm. The false paradigm undergirded, and locked in place, the illusion that water was not significant in human metabolism compared with the solutes, with which medical “science” has been vainly wrestling, generation after generation. The truth of basic human functioning, as Dr. Batmanghelidj’s research progressively confirmed, is that the solvent (water) and not the solute, plays the cardinal role in human health.

Orthodox medicine has been ineffective in dealing with a wide spectrum of diseases, whose etiology is classically listed as “unknown,” because it has this fundamental polarity of solute and solvent back-to-front. The ramified and fundamental role of water has simply not been comprehended. After three years doing basic research in the Tehran prison, Dr. Batmanghelidj was released, and came to America. Here he continued his pathfinding research on the water metabolism of the human body for a further decade or more. He worked with established institutions like the University of Pennsylvania, lectured widely to physicians, and wrote learned papers for professional publications such as the Journal of Gastroenterology. The fallout from Dr. Batmanghelidj’s exertions included a large number of completely cured persons who had been chronically afflicted with “incurable” diseases. Medical doctors were among these people.

Slowly but surely, numerous intelligent medical doctors and researchers who studied his work, overcame the same embarrassment that had consumed Dr. Batmanghelidj, when he first began comprehending the cardinal role of water in human health and functioning. Like Dr. Batmanghelidj, these enlightened physicians came to realize that medicine was confronting a fundamental paradigm shift. Some of these board-certified physicians are quoted in the book. More physicians are recognizing this central truth as the months pass.

Nothing so radical, in the root-meaning of that word, had ever happened to medical knowledge in the history of the world. Chronic dehydration was being identified as the fundamental matrix from which most human diseases emerge. This book will leave you in no doubt that America’s deplorable and desperate health care crisis is born of dehydration, midwifed by medical inability to deal effectively with diseases whose etiology in dehydration is not understood. Almost every disease arising out of dehydration is attacked with medication, or combinations of medications. Sickness therefore proliferates, while the sick cry out in many different ways for water — cries to which doctors are deaf.

Countless ingrained cultural and social customs of modern America, such as not drinking sufficient water, and guzzling phenomenal quantities of diuretic soft drinks and diuretic coffee and tea, reinforce chronic dehydration as the number one health menace in America. Dr. Batmanghelidj emphasizes that drinking coffee, soft drinks and juices does not counter dehydration or meet the body’s water needs. The only way out is by drinking water.

Elusive and seemingly unrelated conditions like dyspeptic pain, stress and depression, high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, excess body weight, chronic fatigue, arthritis, asthma and allergies, insulin-independent diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, back problems and a host of lesser complaints that bedevil human beings, have all yielded to the ingestion of adequate daily water. Dr. Batmanghelidj identifies Alzheimer’s as due to dehydration of the brain.

Eight 8-ounce glasses daily is the recommended regimen advocated by Dr. Batmanghelidj, to keep the human body fully hydrated. For each cup of coffee or other caffeinated drink, an additional, compensating eight-ounce glass of water is required.

Perhaps the most welcome and convincing finding of Dr. Batmanghelidj is the key role played by dehydration in creating back ailments in human beings. The spinal discs consist of about eighty percent water. When these discs atrophy through varying degrees of dehydration, an afflicted human is off on one of the most miserable medical merry-go-rounds known to man. The human spine has to support about 75 percent of body weight. Without fully-hydrated and resilient spinal discs, the spine cannot perform its function properly. “Back problems” ensue. Abnormal physical and nervous pressures develop and vertebrae become misplaced as the spinal discs collapse. In the U.S.A., such back problems are now on an epidemic scale, largely defy physicians and surgeons, and endlessly persecute the afflicted.

Dr. Batmanghelidj has found that rehydration restores the integrity and resilience of the spinal discs. Simple exercises he has devised, create a natural vacuum effect: that draws the needed water back into the discs, whose proper bearing function is thereby eventually normalized. Contrast this with the dead-end, mechanistic “back surgery” that now consumes hundreds of millions of dollars in surgeons’ fees and hospital costs every year.

Back pains are among the body’s many cries for water, from which Dr. Batmanghelidj’s book has appropriately taken its title. The horrific wheezing of an asthmatic, which is one of the most embarrassing and distressing things anyone can witness, is similarly the body crying for water. Dr. Batmanghelidj has demonstrated that asthma is due to the body’s natural histamines constricting the lungs to limit any further loss of water via the breath. The person so afflicted is desperately dehydrated. In the prison environment in Iran, adequate water provided a cure for asthma — one of the astonishing clinical results that first started Dr. Batmanghelidj thinking about the medicinal power of water.

Dr. Batmanghelidj views the way hypertension is classically treated as “scientific absurdity”. The dehydrated body is desperately trying to hang on to its water volume. Uncomprehending physicians intervene with diuretics and literally force more water out of an already dehydrated body. The author gives lucid, comprehensible descriptions of the exquisite hydraulic design and engineering of the human body, and the diverse functions of the cells, capillaries and membranes as they operate to compensate for dehydration. If the body’s many cries for water are ignored, as they are in contemporary America, degenerative diseases are the inevitable consequence. A congress scrabbling to deal financially with an avalanche of degenerative disease, is verification enough that the time has come for a new medical paradigm.

Our typical regular readers of Borderlands will have no difficulty in understanding either Dr. Batmanghelidj’s book, or the stony response that he received on placing his findings before the American Medical Association. The book includes reproductions of his correspondence with the A.M.A. This reviewer regards this book as the most important health book of the twentieth century, since its content can directly benefit everybody — at no cost and right now. Borderlanders should not only secure these benefits for themselves and their families, but also should make them more widely known. Dr. Batmanghelidj is making a Herculean effort to pass the blessings of his work into the lives of all human beings. He is not permitting his work to be sequestered or short-circuited by reactionary orthodoxy. He will need all the help that we can give him.

From “A System of Caucasian Yoga” by Count Stefan Colonna Walewski

This exercise is called the seventh arcane, but having in itself a separate place as a purely magical work, connected with weather control.

Stand erect two feet away from a stand or an alter, on which there is a square, round, pentagonal or other form of vessel, about two feet in diameter, and six inches high, filled half with pure water. The stand should be of height permitting putting of hands on top of it without bending or straining.

Face in the direction of the sun, moon or stars accordingly.

Now cleanse the lungs by panting, throwing out all residual air. Submerge the hands in vessel with water, palms resting on the bottom of it, fingers spread fan-like, thumbs and forefingers of both hands touching each other under water.

Inhale deeply for seven seconds, hold one second, and exhale through the mouth, slowly, sounding a sigh, until the air is out from the lungs. Voice should sound like deep sigh. (Exhalations are timed only to make them run naturally and easily without prescribed seven seconds.) One second stop, inhale again for seven seconds, stop one second and exhale through the mouth with a moaning sound, like moaning and at the same time whistling. Then stop one second, again inhale deeply for seven seconds, stop one second, and exhale through the mouth with a roaring sound, like the roaring of the wind, mixed with the whistling of it.

Those are the three complete breaths — sighing, moaning and roaring. Repeat them four times, making total of twelve breaths.

Note: There is a word which is to be used with sighing, moaning and roaring breaths, and this word forms the background for them, giving them vibration to awaken the elemental spirits of the wind, storm, hurricane, etc.

This word is:

* I – HAU – HAA *

It is to be interwoven with the exhalation of the air in the sighing, moaning and roaring.

This Arcane through attracting powers of wind and storm, changes surrounding climatic conditions, with help of the mighty spirits – El Borach (Spirit of the Lightning) and Waat (Spirit of the Wind).

Note: Eyes should be fixed, but very lightly, so that at times one is actually seeing only a blur.

Electronic “Smoke” – The Story of the Solarama Boardhttp://journal.borderlandsciences.org/1980/scribner-solarama-board/ http://journal.borderlandsciences.org/1980/scribner-solarama-board/#comments Mon, 01 Sep 1980 07:00:00 +0000 http://journal.borderlandsciences.org/?p=94 ]]>

Article by Muriel Larson (with schematic provided by the world famous Dr. A.N. Onymous) and closing comments by Riley Crabb — from Journal of Borderland Research (Vol. 36, No. 5, Sept-Oct 1980)

“It Sure Does Clear The Aura”

An ivy plant, a lame cat, and a crippled wife have led electronics expert James Lee “Jimmy” Scribner to what may be one of the greatest discoveries of all time. It involves a specially treated board that emits electrons when plugged into an electrical connection. These free electrons appear to have a beneficial effect on the human body, as well as on the growth and development of plants.

Already many people with various ailments have been delivered from pain, crippling and even death in an amazing way by this electronic board. Its application to aid human misery was first inspired by the need of Scribner’s wife Doanda. Suffering excruciating pain from a ruptured spinal disk. Doanda was under the care of Dr. Leslie Meyer of Greenville, S.C. She had already had two operations for ruptured disks. For four years she had been restricted by this back trouble from getting around and doing her housework.

Finally Dr. Meyer told her, “Medication can relieve you of pain no longer. You must have another operation. But I must be honest with you. It could leave you a cripple for the rest of your life!”

A reservation was made in January of 1971 for Doanda to enter the Greenville General Hospital for the operation. In between time she had pain pills to take. But one of them didn’t seem to last until it was time to take the next one. “Lord help her,” Scribner pleaded one night. “And if there is anything I can do, please put in my mind.”

Scribner had worked in radio for more than 30 years. Although he was an electronics engineer, his ability to act and write opened up another career for him. For a number of years he had played all the parts of the Johnson Family on radio, as well as the Uncle Remus characters. But more recently he had returned to his first love, electronics. Now he wondered if his knowledge in this field might prove useful to Doanda.

He had been in the heating business for seven years, using his own invention, a heated board which he called Solarama. He had noticed that when one of these boards was near an ivy, the plant showed phenomenal growth. When he moved the board to the other side of the archway, the ivy on that side began to grow fast.

Scribner tested the board and found it was producing free electrons. After this, he developed an electronic pot which he found produced exceptional growth in bean plants. He had been experimenting with this for several years.

A CURE FOR INFANTILE PARALYSIS — IN CATS!

As he lay awake that night wondering and praying about how his knowledge might help Doanda, he suddenly remembered something that had happened several years before, just after he had started his plant experiments. At the time he had put it off as coincidence. But now he wondered — was it a coincidence? And why did it come to his mind just now, as he was asking God for guidance?

They had had a cat named Fluffy. The cat had been born with paralyzed hind quarters. Scribner had a test board lying on a table in his workshop, which he was preparing for the plants. It was plugged in and was warm. Apparently Fluffy found out how pleasant it was to lie on that warm board and she began making a habit of it.

About seven weeks later Scribner noticed that Fluffy was beginning to use her hind legs! And within six months she was walking around like a normal cat. Now it occurred to Scribner that if that electron-emitting board had helped a crippled cat perhaps it would help Doanda. He decided to reduce the metallic particles he used in making such a board in the hopes of getting on the same frequency of the proton in the human cell.

As quickly as possible he developed this board for Doanda’s use and slipped it between the mattress and springs on which she slept. After sleeping on it for five nights Doanda found that her pain had completely disappeared! She went to the hospital to have the operation. The doctor examined her again. “The rupture appears to have subsided to a point where there seems to be no swelling or pain,” he said, quite puzzled. He cancelled the operation and sent Doanda home. After that she continued to improve, and she has since been able to do housework that she had not been able to do for years. Scribner gives God the credit for this beneficial invention.

Jimmy Scribner began working in electronics when the science was in its infancy, back in 1925. For four years he was employed by Alliance Electric Company in Norfolk, Virginia, and while he was with them they started radio station WTAR. Using his ability to imitate various voices, Scribner originated a program for the station known as “Stutter and Whine”, taking the parts of both characters and even writing his own material. Then he spent a year as instructor for the Crosley Corporation in Cincinnati, Ohio teaching the construction of condensers and other radio parts.

In 1953 Scribner moved to Anderson, S.C., in order to help build television station WAIM for Wilton Hall, the newspaper in Anderson. He later entered the mobile home business in Greenville, S.C., at which time he developed the Solarama heating boards that eventually led to his even more important discoveries.

BORDERLAND RESEARCH WITH PLANTS

Scribner’s experiments with plants and free electrons has resulted in the evolution of an unusually large lima bean which he has named after his wife Doanda. From a third-generation Doanda bean he succeeded in growing a 22-foot bean stalk which produced two bushels of beans during the summer of 1971 . . . Electron-emitting boards are now being made especially for plants. The electrons penetrate pots placed on the board and thus induce amazing growth, strength and productivity in your plants of various kinds.

Since Doanda was helped by the board invented for her benefit, hundreds of other people have also been delivered from the symptoms and debility of various ailments.

Perhaps the most unusual discovery concerning this electronic board is what it has done for a terminal cancer patient, Mrs. John Simmons of Taylor, S.C. Barbara Simmons was operated on for a malignant brain tumor during the summer of 1971, but the surgeon was unable to remove all of it. She was sent home to die in September. The doctor told her husband that any one of the brain seizures she was having might end her life.

Barbara began using Scribner’s board in October and the seizures stopped. Six months later further tests were made at the Greenville General Hospital on Barbara. On April 21, 1972 she received a note from Dr. Vernon M. Mustian, neurologist, stating “the tests that were made showed no evidence of tumor at this time”.

A Greenville woman sent a board to a friend of hers in Chicago who was dying from cancer. After observing the remarkable improvement in this terminal patient’s condition, Dr. William F.P. Phillips, eminent cancer specialist at Northwest Hospital in Chicago, ordered similar boards for his other patients.

“The therapeutic value of this invention is based upon the principle of free electrons,” says Scribner. “The human cell is one of the few elements containing atoms that do not have electrons. The human body is, as Johns Hopkins Hospital terms it, a community of electro-chemical cells. The negative forces in this board I have devised bring up all the cells in a person’s body from a dormant to an active state, restoring them to a healthy condition.” He estimates the free electron emission rate at an amazing 2 MEG or 2 million per second.

* * *

That’s why we call it Electronic “Smoke”, after the smoke purifying rituals of Toltec adepts in South America thousands of years ago, before the Flood. Needless to say, Jimmy Scribner’s hopes of making his Solarama Board available to the public were dashed by the refusal of the AMA and the FDA to approve it as a therapeutic device. There was no testing program.

Scribner Solarama Board

“Please accept this schematic and details as a donation to the BSRF reference library, for those members who may be interested in this type of electronic device, since it is entirely different from Radionics in its approach to to certain kinds of therapy. It is placed on the floor under the bed, or under the mattress, and plugged in to the 115vac house current, with the flower design up (the No. 4 top board) and left on as it draws practically no current.”

Dr. A.N. Onymous

  1. The bottom asbestos sheet, on its upper surface, has 2 strips of 1 in. wide aluminum foil cemented in place, roughly 1¼ from the edges of the sheet as shown in the sketch. The entirety of the upper surface (with the exception of a 3″ width on the short foil side of the sheet) has a solid, continuous application of graphite which appears to have been sprayed on.
  2. The top asbestos sheet has 1″ aluminum foil cemented to its upper surface 1¼ inches in from the edges, and with the “L’s” reversed from the bottom sheet, as shown. No electrical connections are made to these aluminum foil strips.
  3. The third sheet in this unit is 1/8″ Masonite and its upper side is enameled white as might be used in a shower stall. A 3/4″ hole in the center allows for the centering of an automatic reset overload safety unit. This unit is numbered 7 and numbers 6 and 8 are mounting terminals for the safety unit. A small spacer block of 1/8″ Masonite is mounted around the safety unit for its protection, sketch 3.
  4. The fourth and top sheet is dark 1/8″ Masonite and has no holes. The “sandwich” is bound together with furnace tape. Plastic bolts are used to connect the wiring to the aluminum strips on the bottom sheet and to mount the safety unit on the lower Masonite sheet.
  5. This capacitor represents the composite capacity of the aluminum
    strips on both asbestos sheets.

  7. Safety overload unit.
  8. Terminal for the safety overload unit 7.
  9. Represents the resistance of the graphite (carbon) coating overlaying the aluminum foil strips on the lower asbestos sheet. This resistance measures 1000 ohms.
  10. This is the receptacle plug. The entire unit was enclosed in a pillow ticking material with a design indicating the upper side.

Looks like`another borderland gadget well worth building and testing, Doc. Meanwhile, those of you interested in learning more of Solarama, write to The Heritage Store, PO Box 444-B, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23458. In his 1974 catalog proprietor Tom Johnson offers a 28-page booklet on Solarama for 75¢, probably higher now. The phone number at the Store is 804-428-0100.

NATURAL SMOKE ALSO CLEANSES AND HEALS

In the hands of a White Magician, of course! And in other places, other times, Jimmy Scribner would have been called a sorcerer with his electric fire and the resulting “smoke” of billions of free electrons rising up continuously through the body and aura of his subject. Adepts of the ancient Toltec civilization in this part of the world made use of the natural smoke to cleanse and balance the auras of their students. Carlos Castaneda learned of this when he apprenticed himself to a Yaqui Indian sorcerer in northern Mexico, the pagan magician, Don Juan, descendant of the Toltecs.

On page 267 of Castaneda’s fifth book on pagan magick, “The Second Ring of Power”, fellow student and teacher La Gorda reveals some of the deeper meaning of the magickal smoke technique: “Smoke is like fog. Fog is of course better, but it’s too hard to handle. It’s not as handy as smoke is. So if a sorcerer wants to see (clairvoyantly) and know someone who is always hiding, like you and Josefina, who are capricious and difficult, the sorcerer makes a fire and lets the smoke envelop a person. Whatever they are hiding comes out in the smoke!

IT ALSO CLEANSES THE AURA

“La Gorda said that the Nagual (Don Juan) used smoke not only to ‘see’ and know people but also to cure. He gave Josefina smoke baths; he made her stand or sit by the fire in the direction the wind was blowing. The smoke would envelop her and make her choke and cry, but her discomfort was only temporary and of no consequence; the positive effects, on the other hand, were a gradual cleansing of the luminosity.

“‘The Nagual gave all of us smoke baths,’ la Gorda said. ‘He gave you more baths than Josefina. He said that you were unbearable, and you were not even pretending, like she was.’

“It all became clear to me. She was right. Don Juan had made me sit in front of a fire hundreds of times (over the years of his apprenticeship, described in his earlier books). The smoke used to irritate my throat and eyes to such a degree that I dreaded to see him begin to gather dry twigs and branches. He said that I had to learn to control my breathing and feel the smoke while I kept my eyes closed; that way I could breathe without choking.

“La Gorda said that smoke had helped Josefina to be ethereal and very elusive, and that no doubt it had helped me to cure my madness, whatever it was.

“‘The Nagual said that smoke takes everything out of you,’ la Gorda went on. ‘It makes you clear and direct.’

“I asked her if she knew how to bring out with the smoke whatever a person was hiding. She said that she could easily do it because of having lost her form, but that the little sisters and the Genaros, although they had seen the Nagual and Genaro do it scores of times, could not yet do it themselves. I was curious to know why don Juan had never mentioned the subject to me, in spite of the fact he had smoked me like a dry fish hundreds of times.

“‘He did,’ la Gorda said with her usual conviction. ‘The Nagual (na-whal) even taught you fog gazing. He told me that once you smoked a whole place in the mountains and saw what was hiding behind the scenery. He said he was spellbound himself . . .’”

Article by Dr. X with comment by Riley Crabb — from JBR (Vol. 28, No. 6, Nov.-Dec. 1972)

To repair and maintain a piece of machinery a mechanic must understand thoroughly the material of which the machine is made, the work that the machine must do and how one part must coordinate with all the other parts. Today, with specialised medicine, the heart specialist doesn’t pretend to know anything else about the body “machine” he is supposed to repair. The day of the family doctor who treated the body as a whole is gone and we need him back, desperately, as our nation is today sicker than any time in history.

The doctor who I think knows more about the Nature of our bodies than all the M.D.s combined is Dr. T. Henry Moray, D. Sc., who says in his book “Cosray”: “It has been stated that in the final analysis all things are electrical in nature. If we go a little farther? We may assume without contradiction that all things sum down to rates of vibration . . . Organisms function by electricity. The body electrical impulses, maintained by oxidation, sustain life and increase the energy of the protoplasm. . .

“. . . the living cell is injured and will deteriorate, and if the injury is great enuf, the cell will die. Why? Because the cell has been caused to vibrate at a rate of frequency of the influencing radiation. If now, one applies a rate of vibration which will counteract the damaging rate of vibration and restore the rate of vibration by the new applied influencing rate of frequency, the cell can be restored to its normal frequency.”

It was necessary for me to describe for you this very basic nature of matter for you to understand what I hope to tell you. The very basis of electricity is polarity: positive designated +, negative designated -, and neutral designated N. Anyone working with electrical apparatus must know all about that and where they go. But our bodies are an electrical machine and a very delicate one. Our doctors’ (M.D.s), who insist that they alone know how to take care of our bodies, don’t know the first principle on which our bodies operate! Let me give you an example.

Andy, a World War I vet in his 70s, had two fingers black on the ends. He was slowly dying of gangrene. All fingers, all toes, ears, nose and upper lip were darkening in the process. His doctor said the two fingers must come off. Andy objected. “Doctor, you haven’t told me what causes this! So we take the fingers off, then my hand, then my arm, So why start?” Of course the doctor knew it was lack of circulation but didn’t know how to improve it. Polarity-wise, Andy’s body was neutral all over. Let me assure you that when the polarity is not normal, neither is the circulation of the blood. Here was the simple solution.

EEMAN SCREENS

To prove to Andy that the answer was very simple and scientific, I did not touch him, but put one Eeman screen under his head with wire to left hand, and the other Eeman screen under his feet (not his hips) and wire to his right hand.

Eeman Screens, developed by L. E. Eeman

In 20 minutes Andy knew he would not have to have surgery. The blood was coming back into his hands and he was in agony. It was just as painful as if they had been frozen! He still had those two good fingers when he died several years later, and all the rest of his limbs. No doctor ever touched them.

After success with the Eeman Screens, I experimented with the Rainbow Toner. (Described in the Sept-Oct. 1968 Journal and in BSRF No. 33, “Radionics, The New Age Science of Healing”) But I make the antennas rectangular rather than round. I found that the Toner, too, would correct body polarity. One night someone woke me from a sound sleep and very plainly said, “If you are getting that much good from the Toner, why not make the antennas larger and get more good?” Now I use a two by four foot copper screen with an applicator under the feet and another just like it under the head. With this setup polarity is corrected in just seconds, unless some unusual condition exists, like the following.

Gary had been on Pot about two years. His health began to break; so he allowed his mother to bring him to me, I found the most peculiar condition ever, checking him over with the pendulum. The polarity was correct on both sides from feet to mid-thigh. From there on up, nothing! The pendulum showed dead.

I put the screen applicators on him as usual but instead of correcting polarity in seconds it took 30 minutes! When his treatment was complete he was an entirely different person. He quit Pot, cut his hair, got a job, and is doing great. His parents now reside on Cloud 9.

ESCAPE FROM INSANITY

Next, Mrs. T brought her son Larry, a married man with two children. Larry had not been on drugs but had been fooling around with psychism; and folks, the black devils had him hooked, but good. They had him believing they had made a Master of him, and he could now head anything and do anything. He had lost his job and family, had been in a hospital where they tried to shake him out of it with drugs; but they only made him worse. He assured me that his name was no longer Larry T but now Master Larry!

Polarity-wise I found him identical to Gary. Again it took 30 minutes on the Toners to clear him. His next words were, “I know now that I am not a master.” Both he and his mother now realize that his next stop was a mental institution, with perhaps a padded cell, shock treatment, and even a lobotomy. Instead Larry his has family back, a good job and good health. Praise God for two pieces of screen wire, four old spark coils from a junk yard, and “quack” who knew enuf to use them.

Can you stand to listen to one more case? I’d like to quote a few excerpts from Mary K’s letters. “Dear X: I just had to write you and thank you again, altho nothing seems quite adequate to express my thanks. You can certainly chalk up another miracle.

“My sinus condition is much improved and I am breathing so well. (Sinus treated with gem stones.) The feeling didn’t start to come back to my legs and feet until after we started home last nite. It was quite a sensation. I had the feeling of millions of tiny pins pricking at my legs and my feet got WARM.

“This will amuse you. When the doctor at the government hospital diagnosed my case he told me there was no medicine or therapy for it. He suggested I come back four times a year for a checkup so they could tell at what rate the disease was progressing, and fit my legs with braces when it became necessary. He also told me there was NEVER any chance of my condition improving and set up an appointment for May 2nd. We’ll certainly have a surprise for the doctor, won’t we?

“Well, I went to see the doctor May 2nd. He could tell my legs were better and asked what I had been doing. I told him since he had nothing to offer I went to see a Witch Doctor. He replied, “I suggest you go back and see your Witch Doctor, as I am not one to knock any one’s method of-healing so long as it works. We certainly have no miracles to pass out here.” He said this in a very sincere manner. (A pat on the back for this doctor.) This is just the greatest thing anyone has ever done for me. I could hardly go to sleep last nite. I could feel my feet and legs down there, and it was like a child’s first Christmas.”

We know that there is no such a thing as a miracle. We only call things a miracle when we don’t understand the LAW that makes them happen; so in my book a miracle is just God Law In Action.

Can you think of anything simpler or nearer to God than to hook this wonderful Body Temple up to a piece of copper screen or copper plate hanging on the wall that is gathering for you something that is free and is everywhere available? There is only one condition that must be met, the antenna must hang at least five feet above the earth.

Yes, Gary, Larry, Carl, Mary and many others call it a miracle but I call it God Law In Action.

Since Gary, Larry, and Carl all had identical symptoms, and since Larry, for sure, was possessed, I am wondering if many of these drug cases aren’t possessed, either before they go on drugs or after they start using them, and that leaves them open. Most certainly, most of them act as if they are possessed by some pretty black wicked ones. What do you think?

By the way, the lead wire to the copper screen or to the copper plate must be soldered to one corner.

DEFENSE AGAINST THE DEATH PRAYER

Yes, Dr. X, it would be well for those attempting to free addicts from their drug habit to assume that obsessing entities are in the magnetic sphere of the victim, continually urging him on. Aside from the examples and warnings in psychic literature, there is Max Freedom Long’s analysis of the Kahuna Death Prayer technique in his book, “Secret Science Behind Miracles”. The numbness, lack of circulation and loss of feeling in the limbs described above by Dr. X corresponds closely to Death Prayer symptoms observed and recorded by Long in Hawaii. The major difference is that in the Death Prayer the black magician sends his obsessing artificial elementals out deliberately, not just to be “eating companions” of the victim services, but to destroy him. “The process,” Max wrote on page 86, “was one of entering the body of the intended victim or attaching themselves to it. That done, the vital force of the victim was taken. . . withdrawn from the feet, a numbness came to them which rose gradually over a period of three days to knees, hip and finally to the solar plexus or heart, at which time the victim died. . .”

On Creating a “Safe Environment” for Bio-Feedback Traininghttp://journal.borderlandsciences.org/1972/beck-biofeedback-training/ http://journal.borderlandsciences.org/1972/beck-biofeedback-training/#comments Sat, 01 Jul 1972 07:00:00 +0000 http://journal.borderlandsciences.org/?p=5 ]]>

Article by Bob Beck — from Journal of Borderland Research (Vol. 28, No. 4, July – August 1972)

After research efforts of nearly a year had transpired, with hundreds of subjects using Biological Feedback EEG devices, the following empirical data emerged, much to everyone’s surprise. We found that subjects who made very little initial progress had been ignoring or were unaware of this information.

It is extremely important that one never attempts alpha wave or theta wave sessions in the same building in which any friend, loved-one, husband, wife, lover, or member of one’s own family is physically present (or whose presence is immediately expected) until many weeks after he has confidently learned to maintain “centering”.

It now appears that adepts sought out caves and mountain tops with good reason.

Regardless of the dynamics or apparently constructive aspects of a relationship, on deep unconscious levels mankind fears and resists any changes in others, particularly when “change” spells your “freedom from control”. When your hang-ups, habitual responses, fixed patterns of thought, “push buttons”, etc., begin to disappear, this becomes a basic threat to their security; they unconsciously feel their influence over you slipping away.

As you become more aware and de-polarized and multi-ordinal, your new powers become a threat to those around you. You don’t have to do or say a word; they instinctively sense the change. And the more sensitive, intelligence, and aware the persons involved, the more rapidly and devastatingly these factors come into play. Your new levels of consciousness are “sensed” immediately and you may get crucified before you learn how to fly. (If you are masochistic, and secretly want to lose or suffer, then ignore this warning information.)

Typically, whether voiced or silent, the reaction is: “You’ve changed.” Then followed by: “You don’t love me anymore.” This is probably untrue; however, you will relate to people differently. It is generally more comfortable for them to relate to the “old” you, which they can better understand, predict, and control. SO they will find ways to somehow interrupt your alpha or theta training sessions with unconscious demands for attention, phone calls, skinned knees, little intrusions, ridicule — the whole gamut of human insecurity. If you call this to their attention it will be denied. People refuse to confront or acknowledge their own unconscious actions and motives. They think and say: “I’m only trying to help you.” So be warned. Take the necessary precautions to insulate yourself from well-meaning but threatened loved ones.

SHIELD YOURSELF FROM INVALIDATORS

One classic experience out of dozens to date may illustrate this point. An engineer who purchased an Alpha-Metrics instrument was in the middle of a session on the second floor of his home, progressing nicely with a good percentage of alpha. Suddenly he experienced a total blockage of alpha signals. His first thought was that the batteries had run down, but blinking his eyes produced “beeps” which verified the instrument was working perfectly. So he ended the sessions and went downstairs where to his surprise he found his mother seated quietly in the living room.

She had come across town to visit, and having a key, had silently let herself in and was waiting patiently for him to “finish his work” and come down and chat with her. He had not heard her enter; there was no sound of a car door slamming outside; and he was consciously totally unaware of her presence. But on the psychic levels, perhaps by some mechanism of ESP, some part of his beingness was alerted to her presence [ed.: Through an Aka thread connection between mother and son? -RHC], and this inhibited from being on his own center and at the alpha-level. Perhaps all of his life he had to live a role suitable to her image of him, and this conditioned response inhibited the possibility of encountering his own true center as long as she was anywhere in his environment.

We may hate to confront these realities; however, like death and taxes, they do exist. If you ignore these probabilities you may expect to crash and burn before you manage to soar clear.

So let at least three weeks go by before you’re tempted to use your new levels of consciousness or “center yourself” in the presence of people you know. It’s much safer around total strangers; they’ll respond to you like a magnet. After you’ve learned to “maintain”, you may be safe in the presence of loved ones. But meanwhile, take every precaution to shield yourself from conscious or unconscious invalidators.

In two unusually refractory cases, we’ve recommended that trainees go to a different environment altogether, and make certain that there were no telephones and no possibility of interruptions; and only then undertake a serious session. These people were so hooked in on their desks stacked with mail, and the familiar surroundings that they literally had to get away from themselves to find themselves. Only by letting no one know where they were or could be reached were they able to cut enough connecting threads of their lives to get a fresh viewpoint.

[RHC: The foregoing helps to account for the glorious "trip" we had with the psychedelic drug Mescaline while at the Aiken Clinic in Socorro, New Mexico in 1963. We were completely away from the administrative load her at hdq and free to soar. Our transcendental reactions to the drug are described in BSRF No. 21, "The Psychedelic Experience", 48 pages. Also included are the Chatterton's experiences with LSD and Bernard Copley's participation in the Moon ritual of the Navajos, using Peyote.]

While you are getting where you want to be, perhaps the best advice can be summed up by the instructions always given by any Master after an enlightenment: “Go thy way and tell NO man.”

Second: Stay off pills, cigarettes, alcohol, and any pain-killers. Even aspirin may occlude your awareness during initial consciousness enhancement.

Lastly: Don’t attempt initial sessions after 8 p.m. Many trainees have independently reported flashing on strange and frightening vibes “out there” after dark. This is becoming better understood, but meanwhile we strongly recommend sessions to be undertaken only between sun-up and sun-down.

In a recent phone conversation with Bob the subject of Silva Mind Control came up. He observed that the Silva system claims to be able to turn on Alpha and Theta in subjects simply by hypnosis and self-suggestion. He found this not to be true in those Silva graduates he tested with his Alpha Wave equipment. At least there was no measurable Alpha or Theta showing up on the audio or visual monitors, after they had suggested themselves into a presumed Alpha or Theta state. – RHC

Radiations and Waves: Source of Our Lifehttp://journal.borderlandsciences.org/1971/lakhovsky-mwo/ http://journal.borderlandsciences.org/1971/lakhovsky-mwo/#comments Sat, 01 May 1971 07:00:00 +0000 http://journal.borderlandsciences.org/?p=28 ]]>

Excerpts from “Radiations and Waves: Source of Our Life” by Georges Lakhovsky, with comment by Riley Crabb and plans for a compact, high-powered MWO by J. Gilbert E. Wright — from JBR (Vol. 27, No. 3, May – June 1971)

RHC: One of the best summaries we know of, of a dozen advanced and non-medical therapeutic techniques, is Associate Mark Gallert's "New Light on Therapeutic Energies", published by James Clarke & Co. Ltd., 31 Queen Anne's Gate, London SW1, England (offered by BSRF as a spiral-bound reprint). The 256-page, hardcover book includes sections on the work of Drs. White, Reich, Hahnemann, Schussler, Littlefield, Wilson, Keesey, Samuels, and of Dinshah Ghadiali, L.E. Eeman, and of the electronic developments of Georges Lakhovsky and S.S. Knight. Here are some of the ideas of Georges Lakhovsky, especially concerned with the cure of cancer. ]

“Certain natural radiations are particularly toxic, especially those originating in earth grograms. Many cancer cases have been attributed to these toxic (poisonous) radiations and proven experimentally, notably in Germany by Dr. Rambeau of Marburg. Therefore, earth radiations sometimes cause disturbance of the cellular oscillatory equilibrium of the organism.

“Under these varied circumstances cellular oscillations may cease; the cell is then dead. But within the dead cell, the chondromes (central coils) continue to oscillate electrically on their own natural frequencies. Fortunately, this phenomenon occurs rarely or all mankind would already have perished from cancer. The chondromes then envelope themselves in a membrane and continue to oscillate and multiply independently of the cell. They then become neoplasic (cancer) cells.

“To re-establish this equilibrium I thought of creating in 1923 a constant compensating field of very short radiations (2 to 10 metres in wave lengths) to neutralize the action of the disturbing rays and give the living cell the necessary stimulation for a return to its normal oscillation.

“To this end in 1923 I constructed my short-wave oscillator, using two triode tubes for very short waves made especially for this apparatus. . . Finally I adopted the oscillator with symmetrical cross leakage comprising two triodes. The oscillating circuit formed a single spiral, branched between the two grilles and the two anodes. It was fed directly by alternating current from the local supply circuit.

“With this short-wave apparatus I was able to cure plants inoculated with cancer. For six years at the Salpetriere I observed and checked the effects of these short waves. Using very low power, from 10 to 12 watts, and a limited duration of treatment, I succeeded in curing cancer in human beings, but also had to record some failures.

“The news of the success of my experiments became widespread. In many countries, as early as 1928, they began to build short wave oscillators of considerable power producing thermal effects. But there was great danger that the chromosomes and chondromes, which are barely a ten-thousandth or twenty-thousandth of a millimeter in thickness, might not survive under a high frequency current. They offer much resistance, even to a low current which is sufficient to dissolve and destroy them.

PROOF WITH A BURNT OUT BULB

“It is simple to prove this by bringing a small bulb of from 2 to 5 watts with a filament of several hundredths of a millimeter, inserted between metal rods forming an antennae, within the radius of a short wave transmitter. The bulb will light up and sometimes burn out, if it is brought too near the apparatus.

“Moreover, the chondromes and chromosomes of all living cells, which are infinitely finer than the filaments of bulbs, are sensitive centers of thermal phenomena, which may provoke their fusion. Undoubtedly this method is effective in killing microbes in the organism and in neoplasic cells. But it can also destroy millions of cells of healthy tissue in every irradiation.

“On the other hand, I thought it possible to obtain better results by administering an oscillatory shock to all the cells in the organism simultaneously. Such a shock, very brief, produced by damped or weakened electrostatic waves, does not provoke thermal and prolonged effects and involves no risk of burning living cells! I therefore sought to produce an artificial oscillatory shock causing a periodic oscillation of the weak or dead cells.

“At first glance this problem seems physically insoluble as there are approximately 200 quintillion cells in our bodies, each oscillating on its own natural wave length. Theoretically, therefore, we would have to have a different wave length for each cell; so that every cell in the organism would oscillate in resonance on its own wave length.

“After much research I was able to construct an apparatus creating an electro-static field covering all frequencies from three metres to the infra-red, so that every cell can find its natural frequency and vibrate in resonance. We know that in physics a circuit fed by damped or weakened high frequency currents creates many harmonics. Consequently, I conceived an oscillator of multiple wave lengths with a broad-scale in which every organ, every gland, every tissue, every nerve, could find its natural frequency.

“To obtain this result I set up a transmitter (antenna) composed of a series of circular concentric oscillating circuits linked by a silk cord but not contiguous. These circuits are stimulated by damped high frequency currents from a spark gap. Thus each circuit of the transmitter-vibrates not only on its natural frequency, but also on numerous harmonics.

“Thus I built an oscillator with all the basic wave lengths from 10 centimetres to 400 metres, that is, all frequencies from 750,000 per second to 3 billion. But each circuit also emits many harmonics which, with their basic waves, their interferences and their effluvia can reach the scale of infra-red and even that of visible light (1 to 300 trillion vibrations per second). Since all the cells as well as the chondromes oscillate precisely at frequencies on these gamuts, they can therefore find on the scale of such an oscillator the frequencies which cause them to vibrate in resonance.

REINFORCING THE VITALITY

“As early as 1931 I began using this multiple wave oscillator in various Paris hospitals: the Saint Louis, Val-de-Grace, Calvary, Necker, etc. Among the many cures with this treatment I will mention especially those of various cases of cancer which X-ray and radium treatments failed to improve. These patients cured six years ago have had no recurrence and are in perfect health at this date. In all pathogenic cases this treatment gives very good results. As it does not attack the microbes directly, it does not destroy live tissue, but reinforces the vitality of the organism by accelerating cellular oscillation. It is therefore the reinforced organism that successfully resists the microbes and all pathogenic causes.

“So, while X-rays and radium destroy microbes, neoplasic cells and healthy tissues at the same time — which accounts for the serious accidents which occur during and after such treatments — high frequency radiation (short waves) applied at a distance and without thermal effect cure diseases of all kinds, even those of the prostate to a considerable degree. Whatever the pathogenic cause, the multiple wave oscillator (MWO) reproduces the frequencies necessary to re-establish the cellular oscillatory equilibrium.

“In general, it is sufficient to seat the patient, or to have him stand in the radius of the apparatus (between the two antennas). The duration of the treatment is usually from five to ten minutes, every other day. These figures are purely arbitrary since these radiations reinforcing cellular oscillation do not produce organic disturbance, whatever the duration of the treatment may be. Despite the many cases successfully treated, almost without exception, yet it must be understood that my oscillator cannot cure all types of cancer in all its stages of development. In many cases, when the cancerous tumour has already destroyed important blood vessels, my apparatus is powerless to rebuild that tissue before the fatal haemorrhage.”

BSRAssociates with extra-sensory perception (ESP) have watched the MWO in operation. They say they can see clouds of ectoplasm building up around the antenna but this takes several minutes. This mechanically generated vitality, mana, prana, is then absorbed by the subject, along with the radiations; but this takes time; so, to get the full benefit of this electronic showerbath, the subject should stay in it at least 10 minutes — or until he feels the polarity change in his body. This is if he is experimenting with the Bob Beck miniaturized Multi-Wave Oscillator, which uses only one powered antenna.

A HIGH-POWER MULTI-WAVE OSCILLATOR

Diagram of J. Gilbert E. Wright's High-Powered Multiple Wave Oscillator

“Your brochure article stating that Georges Lakhovsky’s original MWO had a separate Tesla coil driving each Antenna is most interesting. This is in line with my experience here in Manila. I find that when livening up both antennas to full voltage, to spark each antenna down to the 3rd ring with an occasional slop-over to the 4th ring, it is much more effective than when keeping one antenna (or resonator) down to near ground potential; and it is least effective when actually grounding this antenna — as Mr. Beck does — through a 1/10 MF capacitor!

“One five minute treatment a week is enough for me and the equivalent of two 15 minute treatments with only one antenna up to full voltage. However, I drive both antennas up to full voltage with only one Tesla coil. It has rather tightly coupled primary and secondary windings, wound as an auto-transformer, on a 4 1/4 in.
diameter glass jar, as per enclosed sketch (above).

“The present spark gap is 1/8 inch, fixed, constant gap, needs no tuning with variable distances between antennas, subject or no subject. The sparking is much the same and the gap is not at all critical, 1/32nd, plus or minus, works just as well. Gap electrodes are 1/4 inch tungsten. The present primary circuit capacitor is .0015 Micro Farads, but this also is not at all critical, can be varied up to .0025 and still give much the same sparking and effect on subject.

“I tried using #28 Formvar wire, heavy insulated, 70 turns each on the secondaries, to shorten coil and get tighter coupling, primary to secondary, but coil was too short and flashed over from end to end.

“Just plug it in and use it, no tuning manipulation of any kind required. The input of 115 VAC to the 10,000 volt oil burner ignition transformer is only 17 VA through the 75 watt lamp as a limiting resistor. Never use more than a 100 watt lamp. This is all I can take. More power becomes rapidly depressing. And the full 250 VA out put of the transformer I once used, with a 5/8 inch spark gap, was nearly fatal. It took me four months to get over the effects of it. Pass this info on to your Associates.” — J. Gilbert E. Wright

Associates can benefit from this dedicated borderlander’s experience, which confirms Lakhovsky’s warning that healthy cells can be over-stimulated and killed by powerful high-frequency waves –as well as by X-ray and radium waves. It may be easier to locate Neon Sign transformers of 5,000 to 7,500 volts output as power supplies for this MWO, at a cost of $15 to $20. In this case the wattage of the “limiting resistor” electric light could be increased to 150 or 200 watts, or eliminated altogether, if it is necessary to get enough power to cause random arcing down to the third and fourth rings on both antennas. The good doctor says nothing about shielding but care should be taken to prevent radio interference from this powerful spark.

Pamphlet by William Swygard — as seen in Journal of Borderland Research (Vol. 27, No. 2, March – April 1971)

The following technique is not to be taken lightly, because it is the beginning of a mental-spiritual experience that will allow you to know yourself. By this it is meant that you, without the aid of a teacher or assistant of any kind — after a few preliminary exercises — can bring into your physical consciousness your entire past.

You can recall your incarnations on this planet, your experiences before you came to this planet; in fact, you can see for yourself everything you have experienced since your spirit was released from the Creator.

This designation, Multi-Level Awareness, is the correct nomenclature — a direct translation of its designation through more solar systems and galaxies than the present awareness of mankind on Earth understands.

This technique, Multi-Level Awareness, is simple. There is nothing you can add to it to make it work better or quicker. It works with everyone.

1. Make a person comfortable. Have the person remove his shoes and lie down. Clasp his legs, one at a time, just above the knee and manipulate your hands downward, stopping briefly at the knee to make certain the knee is relaxed. Then rub on down, to the ankle and bend the ankle; then massage the foot, and then the toes briefly and vigorously. Repeat this manipulation quickly. Next, place the palm of your hand on the person’s forehead, and with a little pressure move the skin of the forehead up and down and sideways for a few seconds. This relaxation process should not be overdone.

2. Ask the person to close his eyes. After a brief moment, ask him to become a few inches taller by allowing himself to stretching out through the bottom of his feet. Then, say to him, “Tell me as soon as you have done this.” When he says he has accomplished this, pause a few seconds and say, “Go back to normal size. Tell me as soon as you have done this.”

Ask him to repeat the exercise, only the second time ask him to become “a foot” taller. “Tell me as soon as you have done this.” When he agrees, pause again and tell him to go back to normal size. “Tell me as soon as you have done this.” Repeat the foot tall routine again. Each time ask him to tell you when he has accomplished the exercise.

Now go to the other end of the body. “Become a few inches taller by extending yourself out through the top of your head. Tell me when you have done this.” Then back to normal size again. Then, do a foot taller three times through the head. Always ask him to tell you when he is done.

The next step requires further exercising. “Now, this time extend yourself through the head, face, body, arms, legs and feet. In other words, blow yourself up just like a balloon. Tell me as soon as you have done this.” Then go back to normal size. All of the time, throughout these exercises, be jovial and keep your voice firm and convincing, yet be ready to laugh, and keep the person going quickly and smoothly through these preliminaries. Once he has done them well, there is never a need to repeat them.

Next, tell him to blow up use like a balloon again, only much larger this time. When he tells you he has done this, ask him to go quickly and stand in front of the building where he lives. “Tell me when you are there.” As soon as he says so, start him talking. Ask him to see this and that, and to describe what he sees. Tell him to look for, one at a time, the door, door knob, windows, walkways, trees, shrubs, marks of any kind. After he sees and describes to you, these objects, tell him to “go quickly and stand on the roof of the building and look down into the road (or yard) in front. Tell me as soon as you are there.” Ask him to see and describe such objects as cars, trees, etc. When this is completed tell him to go about 500 feet up into the air and look down. (One in a hundred may object at this point but remind him quickly that he is still safe in the room.) Then repeat the request. “Tell me as soon as you are there.” Ask him to see what he can observe and report it to you. Keep him talking.

The person may tell you throughout this phase of outdoor work that he is “imagining things”, but remind, him gently that this is an exercise in awareness and continue, as if he had said nothing.

3. After he has described to you the things he sees from this advantage of altitude, ask him whether it is daytime or nighttime. When he tells you it is one or the other, ask him to tell you why he thinks so. He will say something like, “It is daytime because everything is light, and I can see just as if it were daylight, so it must be daytime.” Or, “It is sort of twilight, you know, just like after the sun has gone down.” If it is nighttime or twilight in his vision, ask him to make it daytime — bright as sunlight. “Tell me as soon as you have done this.” Then ask him to tell you why he thinks it is daytime. Keep him talking, talking all the time. If it was daytime to begin with, ask him to make it night; and then ask him why he thinks it is_night. Turn the days into nights and back again at least three t1mes, but be certain that you finish this phase by having it daytime — a very bright, sunny day.

Then quickly ask him, “Who is making it night and day?” Most will quickly answer, “I am!” If he hesitates more than ten seconds, ask him, “Are you making it night and day?” He will agree. It is very important that he understands that he is causing the change.

4. “Now, are you still high in the air?” The answer will be, “Yes.” “Please keep the scene very bright. Come back to earth in another lifetime that you lived many years ago. Come down quickly as you go back in time; bring your feet down quickly and firmly, but gently, and stand on the ground. Tell me as soon as you are there.”

The person is now experiencing a good vision of a previous life.

Remind him frequently to, “Look out through your eyes and listen through your ears.” Ask, “What are you wearing on the lower part of your body?” Wait for descriptions, but keep the person talking. The more talk the better he will see in the beginning. Insist that the person do only what you tell him to do and answer your questions; remembering to keep the questions in some semblance of chronological order. Move the person onward in time — skip a day, a week, month or year in his lifetime, but keep him moving and talking.

At the end of the lifetime, ask the person to go to an earlier lifetime by requesting, “Come down in an earlier lifetime — look down at your feet and tell me what you are wearing on them.”

At the end of the second or third lifetime you have run through ask him to “die” and follow through the death, asking, “What happens next?” (When you do not have specific questions.) No matter what he reports, do not question the validity. This is new material for people to understand.

After you have run a few people through several lifetimes you will understand that this material is valid. When he has run incidents between his lives, ask him to go back and find his present parents, from the first time he saw them until after he was born. Ask questions, questions, questions.

When you discontinue the running process at any time, ask the person, “Do you see any need to continue at this time?” Let him decide when to stop.

When you continue with this person at a later time, make him comfortable (but no need to rub), tell him to turn the lights on inside, and go quickly back to where he left off last time.

After three to five hours of “coaching” or assisting a person, he should be quite ready to run himself. It takes a person a little time to learn to ask himself questions. As soon as he can ask himself questions, he is ready to go alone. If he reports back to you that he is “stuck”, run him a little more, but make him ask the questions. Practice is of the essence. Soon an entire lifetime can be seen in a few minutes with all senses in force.

There are no wasted words in the above. Failure to succeed is failure to follow instructions. It is fun to run and to be run. Change off. The more you run, the better coach you become. Do a lot of both.

Review by Riley Crabb of Mark Clement’s “The Waves that Heal” and a more general overview of early BSRA experiments with the Lakhovsky Multi-Wave Oscillator — from JBR (Vol. 19, No. 9, Dec. 1963)

Bob Beck has loaned us a copy of the late Mark Clement’s brief, illustrated, 64-page review of Georges Lakhovsky’s work. This contains excellent photographs of Lakhovsky’s Multiple Wave Oscillator antenna, or transmitter, of before-and-after skin cancers apparently cured by the Oscillator, and of cancerous plants returned to normal health by Lakhovsky oscillating circuits.

Clement translated from the French Lakhovsky’s own book on his work, “The Secret of Life”. This was published in 1939 by Heinemann (Medical Books) Ltd., London, and contains a preface by Professor d’Arsonval. Then in 1949 Mark Clement wrote and published his own review of the Russian’s radical researches in the field of electronic medicine. Here are a few quotes from his Introduction.

“On the day Hitler’s mechanized hordes drove into Prague a book was published in London entitled ‘The Secret of Life’ by Georges Lakhovsky, a Russian-born engineer resident of Paris. The book had previously appeared in French, German, Italian and Spanish translations and Lakhovsky’s theories were well known on the Continent long before the English translation was published.

“The evil designs of the Nazis soon gave rise to depressing repercussions in all spheres of human activity and Lakhovsky’s remarkable work was left virtually unnoticed in this country (England) by the medical profession and the public alike. A few discerning critics, however, expressed their views with appreciative understanding. The Hospital said ‘Lakhovsky’s theories are so interesting from the point of view of future developments that it will repay any keen hospital officer to give them his close attention.’ . . . Science Forum ‘The admirable translation of Lakhovsky’s ‘The Secret of Life’ will be heartily welcomed in progressive circles. The general theory is one which physicists, biologists, and medical men cannot afford to ignore.’ . . . But these were voices in the wilderness and the field for experimental investigation was left open to a few amateurs devoid of scientific training and lacking the necessary resources. . .

“The impartial investigation of claims of cure of various diseases by unorthodox methods demands high qualities of mind and character possessed by very few men indeed. Scientific truth is no respecter of persons or of vested interests, and Lakhovsky’s spectacular results in the treatment of plants and animals and human beings were inevitably bound to antagonise orthodox practitioners and exponents of popular medical cults.

“On the Continent Lakhovsky’s work attracted a great deal of attention in scientific circles, particularly in Germany and Italy. Italian investigators were among the first to study Lakhovsky’s theories and put them to the test in laboratories and clinics. It was, of course, to be expected that the new science of Radiobiology should make a Special appeal to the intellectual heirs of Galvani, Volta and Marconi. It is somewhat depressing to observe that in the country of Faraday and Clerk Maxwell (England), Lakhovsky’s theories have not yet received the attention they deserve.

REGENERATING OSCILLATING CIRCUITS

“Lakhovsky has been criticised by physicists ignorant of biology and by biologists ignorant of physics! These self-appointed censors of knowledge soon found they were confronted with a redoubtable opponent who fully realised the value of experimental evidence. Its publication resulted in causing annoyance to the custodians of infallible doctrines who made up with carping verbiage what they lacked in clarity of vision. But Lakhovsky’s achievements with his oscillating circuits supported by astonishing photographs of regenerated tissues in plants and human beings could not be exploded by mere verbal fireworks, and as evidence accumulated the scepticism of hostile critics relapsed into morose silence.

“The indisputable fact remains that Lakhovsky was the first experimenter to make use of high frequency electro-magnetic waves in the domain of biology. Thus out of the application of radio-electricity to biology his work developed and gradually established the foundations of the new science of Radiobiology. The first international Congress of Radiobiology was held in Venice in 1934. A leading authority on electro-therapy, the late Dr. E.P. Cumberbatch, wrote: ‘Although it had been frequently observed that the short Hertzian waves could produce heat at a distance from the transmitter the first scientific investigation from a biological point of view was made by Lakhovsky and his colleagues who published a paper in 1924 on the effects of very short waves on cancer in plants.’ . .

“When France was occupied by German troops Lakhovsky, being a prominent anti-Nazi, decided to leave Paris and made his way to New York where he died in 1942 at the age of 73.

“In the United States Lakhovsky’s theories were put to the practical test with typical American speed. Noticing that patients treated with Lakhovsky’s Multiple Wave Oscillator showed signs of rejuvenated appearance, the possibility of exploiting this side-effect proved irresistible to an enterprising ‘beautician’. A film was made featuring cases after treatment with Lakhovsky’s Multiple Wave Oscillator, which proved to be both interesting and convincing.

“In New York Lakhovsky was approached by several hospitals with a view to testing his apparatus experimentally. The remarkable results obtained; . . in a large New York City hospital, and also by a prominent Brooklyn urologist are fully set out in the text.

“In this country (England), owing mainly to the inauspicious time at which Lakhovsky’s major work was published, very little interest has been shown on the part of those best qualified to judge its merits. The medical profession, whose conservatism is the most formidable barrier to progress, has been notoriously slack in investigating the new radio-electrical methods of treating disease as originated by Lakhovsky, . . ”

Mark Clement’s observation on the formidable conservatism of the medical profession in 1949 is still true today. Effective electronic diagnosis and treatment of disease is still a closed door here in America as far as the AMA is concerned. Those brave MDs who have tried to keep medical practice abreast of developments in electronic science have been discouraged, if not actually driven out of practice. Dr. Abrams is a good example, with his Oscilloclast, developed and proven effective in San Francisco about the time Lakhovsky was developing the MWO in Paris in the 1920s. Radical innovations in any line of endeavor usually thought up and proven by rank outsiders. Georges Lakhovsky was no doctor, but an electrical engineer!

Doctors, with their own pharmacies and with massive investments in drug industry, are not likely to show much interest in radical new ways for treating human ailments, especially if the new way is a threat to profitable practise; and, as long as Americans think they can buy health in a pill or a shot in the fanny, doctors will continue to treat them with poisonous drugs at top prices. This is good business.

BORDERLAND RESEARCH

But for those of us who would like to keep our bodies as uncontaminated — and as healthy — as possible, Lakhovsky’s theories offer a way out of the clutches of the medical trust. There is little likelihood that the AMA will support research in this area of electronic science for years to come. There is every probability that there will be murderous opposition to any attempt to exploit the MWO on a national scale. This means that you will have to build and test your own equipment, or make friends with some electronic technician — engineer, TV, or radio repairman — and prevail upon him to build it for you. This is the active kind of borderland research which requires that you get up out of your easy chair and get to work! If you live in an isolated spot, take a mail order course in basic radio construction. If you live near a high school that has an adult education program, sign up for the evening class in radio theory and bench work. I did at Barstow in 1958, so can you. Electronics has replaced aircraft as the basic industry here in Southern California. If you want to be a citizen of the New Age you should make some effort to keep up to date, even if the sick industry doesn’t!

What are Lakhovsky’s general theories? Mark Clement sums them up neatly in Chapter One of “The Waves That Heal”:

“The fundamental principle of Lakhovsky’s scientific system may be summed up in the axiom ‘Every living being emits radiations’. Guided by this principle Lakhovsky was able to explain such diverse phenomena as instinct in animals, migration in birds, health, disease, and, in general, all the manifestations of organic life. (Here follows the drawing of a living cell shown on page 6 of the November journal).

The Waves that Heal - Living Cell

“According to Lakhovsky the nucleus of a living cell may be compared to an electrical oscillating circuit. This nucleus consists of tubular filaments and chromosomes made up of insulating material and filled with a conducting fluid containing all the mineral salts found in sea water. These filaments constitute minute oscillating circuits endowed with capacity and inductance and capable of oscillating according to a specific frequency. They are comparable to the circuits, coils and windings of radio-receivers.”

I believe Clement’s comparison of a body cell with a radio-receiver is only half-true. The cell can also be compared with a radio transmitter when it is releasing energy. We are both radio-receptive and radio-active! Lakhovsky’s theory should be acceptable to any occult scientist. The push-pull idea, the positive and the negative, the Law of Opposites, is basic to all forms and to all life at this level of existence. By inductance Clement means that radio-electricity can be induced or put into every cell of your body. By capacity he means that each body cell can hold a charge of radio-electricity, just as the battery of your car can carry a charge of electricity. In the case of your car battery the charge is put in through wire or battery cables. In the case of your body, the charge is put in through invisible but very real radio waves. These can travel unimpeded through any solid object!

“The living cell can thus play the part of a transmitter or receiver of exceedingly short radio-electric waves which give rise to high frequency currents in the circuits of the cellular nucleus. Now the vibration of an oscillating circuit is maintained by radiated energy. But where does it come from?”

If the terminology of electronics is unfamiliar to you, let’s take an example out of your daily life, if you own and use a television set. Right now N3G’s television transmitter is oscillating (broadcasting)on top of Mt. Wilson, 6000 feet above Los Angeles and a hundred miles away from headquarters here in Vista. These “exceedingly short radio-electric waves” are bombarding this typewriter and my body, but they are so weak they don’t effect me very much. Though undoubtedly some of my body cells are reacting feebly to the N3C frequency which we call Channel 4 here. Nor do my body cells tell me the quality of the radiated NBC energy, fortunately; to discover this I turn our TV set on. As the current surges through the “circuits, coils, windings” and tubes, sound and picture tell me what is being transmitted. Now my TV set is oscillating in tune with NBC’s oscillator. The transmitter and receiver are in balance and the program comes in fine. With this picture clearly in mind now let us turn to the cells of our bodies as receivers, and Clement’s interpretation of the Lakhovsky theory.

COSMIC RAYS

“Scientists have established the existence of highly penetrating waves to which, by reason of their universality, they have given the name of cosmic rays. These rays, generated by the interference of astral radiations, are capable of traversing dense metals and soils to a great depth. Lakhovsky has demonstrated that cellular oscillation of living organisms is maintained by cosmic radiation. According to him, disease may be said to result from oscillatory dis-equilibrium due to either a deficiency or an excess of cellular radiation. An important factor in this connection is the nature of the soil. A reinforcement of cosmic rays takes place on soils which are good conductors of electricity such as clay, ferruginous and carboniferous soils.

RESONATE IN HARMONY WITH THE UNIVERSE

“To avoid the harmful effects of loss of oscillatory equilibrium it is necessary to ensure the regularisation of the cosmic field round the living organism by filtration. Lakhovsky’s own explanation of the problem of filtration is as follows: ‘The terrestrial atmosphere is known to be impregnated by a vast range of electro-magnetic oscillations of all wave lengths and intensities as a result of unceasing electrical discharges (thunder, etc.). Besides that we know that electric motors and other electrical machines create in the atmosphere a field of auxiliary waves. Moreover, during the past 25 years the earth has been flooded with radio-telegraphic, radio-telephonic and other waves. Under such conditions it is easy to understand why any oscillating circuit of any form or dimensions is likely to find in this vast field of waves its own resonance with which it can vibrate harmoniously. It is therefore obvious that to make any oscillating circuit oscillate there is no need to have recourse to a local generator such as the Radio-oscillator used by Lakhovsky in 1924 when he first treated and cured geraniums inoculated with cancer. The oscillating circuit utilised by Lakhovsky in his second series of experiments — a circuit having no artificial source of excitation — proved equally effective in curing geraniums rendered cancerous by inoculation.”

Yes, in 1924 Lakhovsky “graduated” from electronics to radionics! He discovered and proved to his own satisfaction that in some ways a simple, one-turn coil of wire or fibre was as effective as the electric powered Multiple Wave Oscillator. The simple Oscillating Circuit, as Lakhovsky called it, has two advantages over the MWO. It doesn’t have to be plugged in to a battery or 110 volt home power supply, and it broadcasts no interference with radio and TV sets.

Clement says that “it must be particularly stressed that only Circuits made in strict accordance with Lakhovsky’s directions should be used, otherwise the results will prove to be entirely negative.”

To get back to Clement’s text in Chapter One: “Through the action of this constant field of radio-electric waves which emanates from the surrounding atmosphere the oscillating circuit is made to resonate like an instrument in tune with certain sounds. Thus the Oscillating Circuit creates a local field which calanises and filters, so to speak, the cosmic waves necessary for cellular oscillation.

THE DANGER OF BURNING K-RAYS

“Furthermore, this filtration is a general phenomenon. It has been discovered, through the investigations of Lakhovsky, that radiations such as those associated with light, ultra-violet rays, X-rays, etc., have the property of making cosmic rays act, as it were, to the advantage or disadvantage of the cells. New the field created by an oscillating circuit is constant and emits a steady and sustained force. It invariably acts in a favourable manner on the oscillation of the body cells, facilitating by the filtration of cosmic rays, regular cellular division, a fact which explains the immunity imparted to the cells and their consequent capacity of resistance to diseases and microbes.”

It is highly significant that about the only rays and ray machines approved for general use by the American Medical Association are the destructive ones of X-rays and atomic radiation for the mis-treatment of cancer.

“Since Lakhovsky’s oscillating circuits were first used for the treatment of cancerous geraniums, an experiment fully described in communications to the French Academy of Science, the same method has been successfully applied in Continental hospitals and nursing homes.”

Photos of the successful treatment of cancerous geranium plants are included in Clement’s book, along with the pictures of the disappearing skin cancers in human beings. So Clement describes the two major features of Lakhovsky’s work in this first chapter, the simple, one-coil Oscillating Circuit powered by cosmic rays, and the electric-powered Multiple Wave Oscillator. There are photos of the Multiple Wave Oscillator, showing clearly the unique, circular antennas. These were made of metal tubing, separated and suspended with silk thread. The simpler, aluminum-foil printed circuit in Bob Beck’s adaptation is apparently just as effective.

MWO Where to Wear diagram

THE OSCILLATING CIRCUIT

“The diagram on this page shows where the oscillating circuits should be worn, i.e. round the neck, waist, and above the elbows and knees the effect is intensified if more than one circuit is worn. Generally speaking, the neck and waist are the favoured sites and likely to bring about the best results.

“In the light of Lakhovsky’s theories the fight between the living organism and microbes fundamentally a ‘war of radiations’. If the radiations of the microbe win the cell ceases to oscillate and death is the ultimate results. If, on the other hand, radiations of the cell gain the ascendant the microbe is killed and health is preserved.

THE SECRET OF LIFE (AT THE FORM LEVEL)

“Broadly speaking, health is equivalent to oscillatory equilibrium of living cells whereas disease is characterised by oscillatory dis-equilibrium. This general principle has given rise to a vast number of experiments covering the whole field of biology. Plants, animals and human beings have been successfully treated by the application of Lakhovsky’s oscillating circuits and the reader is referred to his major work ‘The Secret of Life’ for a full discussion of this important subject.”

Those of you who have been studying the Kabala with Mrs. Crabb and me must have been struck immediately by the metaphysical soundness of Lakhovsky’s basic theory expressed above. One wonders if this Russian escapee from Communism, and from Nazism, wasn’t indeed a student of the Western Mystery Tradition, perhaps even an Initiate! The Tree of Life is the ground-plan of our Tradition. On the Tree we show the descent and the ascent of power, oscillating back and forth from left to right and right to left across the Middle Pillar, or balance point.

“During recent years observations on the part of several investigators have established the fact that most animals, including insects and birds, emit radiations while they are also sensitive to the influence of external electro-magnetic waves. These radiations emitted by all living beings cover an indefinite range (infinite range?) and are characterized by a multitude of different wave lengths. In the immense range of existing radiations we can only perceive the luminous octave (visible light) but we know that whole gamuts of radiations exist beyond the narrow limits of the visible spectrum. The limitations of our senses prevent us from perceiving radiations of living beings and this sensory incapacity also excludes from the field of direct awareness the vast gamut of electro-magnetic waves traversing our atmosphere. Yet all these radiations and waves exist and affect all forms of organic life in various ways.”

DR. RAUL ARAUJO’S REPORT

In Chapter Two Mark Clement gives “Medical Reports on Lakhovsky’s Oscillating Circuits”. We’ll give only one, but Dr. Araujo, Physician at the Prophylactic Institute, Montevideo, Uruguay. “In 1929, Dr. Araujo was suffering from a long-standing infection of the larynx which his eminent colleagues had failed to cure. While in Paris he met Lakhovsky who advised him to wear one of his oscillating circuits in the form of a collar. Although feeling rather sceptical about this unorthodox method of treatment Dr. Araujo wore the oscillating circuit for several months with the result that he fully recovered and has had no relapse since. This personal experience led him to treat his own patients with Lakhovsky°s oscillating circuits. Having treated over 300 patients suffering from a wide variety of diseases Dr. Araujo succeeded in curing or greatly improving cases of rheumatism, asthma, anaemia, neuralgia, gastric ulcer, colitis, glandular disturbances, sterility, genito-urinary affections, general weakness and even cancer. . . Dr. Araujo observed that in cases in which Lakhovsky’s oscillating circuits appeared to give no definite results there was invariably a latent infection which required special treatment such as syphilis, cholecystitis, sinusitis, pyelitis, dental sepsis, etc. . . A full account of Dr. Araujo’s Report appeared in a monograph entitled ‘Cosmic Rays and Oscillating Circuits’ by Dr. P. Rigaux. Paris, 1932.”

CHAPTER THREE, THE MULTIPLE WAVE OSCILLATOR

Most of this has been Well explained by Bob Beck in his article in the November journal, though we might quote again in Clement’s own words: “After many experiments Lakhovsky succeeded in constructing an apparatus generating an electrostatic field in which all frequencies from 3 metres to the infra-red region could be produced. Hence in this field every cell could find its own frequency and vibrate in resonance. . . Thus a type of oscillator was obtained giving all fundamental wave lengths from 10 cms. to 400 metres, corresponding to frequencies of 750,000 to 3 milliards per second. . .

“Since 1931 the Multiple Wave Oscillator has been used in most European countries and in America for the treatment of many diseases including cancer. No contra-indications for the use of the apparatus nor any harmful effects on patients have ever been reported. This is in striking contrast with short-wave therapy in general, X-rays and radium whose application in the hands of experts has not infrequently been followed by the most serious consequences. . . ”

Then follow several pages of photos of before-and-after cancer cures and medical reports from doctors. This one is typical, from Dr. Nicholas Gentile, Chief Radiologist of the Clinic for Incurables of the Apostolic Ladies of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Rome, published in the medical review “Medicina Nuova” XXVI, N.5., 1935, Rome: “I. Effects On The Nervous System. Generally speaking I have observed a marked analgesic action following the application of the Multiple Wave Oscillator in all affections associated with pain, particularly in the classical cases typical of such affections. For example, a patient suffering from cephalalgia, resulting from violent cranial trauma, for a duration of 10 years, was subjected to a great variety of treatments, but all in vain. This patient was definitely cured after 2 months* treatment with the MWO. Improvement was manifest after only 3 applications.”

Dr. Gentile also reported the effects of the MWO on the Central Nervous System, on Chronic Inflammations, on Metabolism, on Disorders of the Cardio-Vascular System, and on miscellaneous cases. He says he adopted the “technique of localized irradiation. Generally speaking, treatment is given every 4 days for a duration of 5-15 minutes per session. This is the technique which has given me the best results after having experimented with many other forms of application. For children, old people and debilitated women, a relatively weaker application is indicated. If results are not apparent after 7 or 8 applications, I continue until l5-30 applications are given at the rate of a single treatment once a week. I have never observed any ill-effects from the MWO treatment, whatever the number of applications was in any given case. Moreover, the general condition of patients is always improved, even if only temporarily, so much so that the patients themselves sometimes insist on having further treatments. . . ”

This chapter on the MWO concludes with four pages of reports of notable improvement or cure by American doctors. Chapter Five is concerned with the remarkable results obtained by using the Multiple Wave Oscillator on animals. Chapter Six contains Lakhovsky prophecy that some time in the future diagnosis of disease would be obtained by television! This is something which Dr. Drown’s Radio-Vision instrument and radionics instruments have already accomplished.

THE NOVEMBER CONVENTION TESTING PROGRAM

There were two Multiple Wave Oscillators available. These were generously furnished by Bob Beck and Ed Skilling, and were set up in the shielded seance room. Only short exposures of from 2 to 5 minutes were given, during the lunch and dinner hours on Saturday and Sunday. In that time perhaps a 100 people volunteered for tests. Until a follow up inquiry is made, no statistical conclusion can be made, or even begun! A few individual cases reported to your Director are worth of note including my own. By mid-morning on Saturday a spinal injury from my old, hockey-playing days was acting up. Doctors have called it a spasm in the sacro-iliac area. Ed Skilling invited me to sit in the rays from the MWO for a couple of minutes while the seance room was being readied for the testing. Within a minute the spasm relaxed completely and the pain was gone. This was not a permanent change, of course, but the analgesic effect was certainly noticeable.

Mrs. Fred Rannenberg, financial secretary of Harmony Grove and a BSRAssociate, told me she had had a sharp pain in the area of her left hip for ever two weeks at the time of the Convention. One 3-minute exposure to the rays of the MWO removed this completely. When I attended the Grove Board meeting a week later she said the pain had still not returned.

One Associate did report a negative reaction to the MWO. She attributed it to arsenic poisoning. She had had a severe case of this earlier in the year. When the machine was turned on she felt a severe pain through her right side, as though someone had jabbed a knife into her. It could be that some of the lead poison was still in her system and the stirring of the cells in the mid-section produced this reaction. It was endurable, however, and she sat out the exposure without a murmur. The pain persisted that night and she had to put cold compresses on her side to get to sleep. The next morning she felt fine and was eager to take another exposure to the multiple waves. This time there was no negative reaction.

The most startling subject of all was the woman who had been awake all Saturday night with a migraine headache, an old and recurring ailment. By Sunday morning, Nov. 10th, she was sick and nauseated. It was suggested that before taking her to a doctor or hospital she be given a short exposure to MWO rays. Within minutes all pain was gone and she returned to her cottage to lay down and sleep like a baby.

THE PSYCHEDELIC EFFECT

Ed Skilling is the only one we know of who has stayed in the MWO field or rays for longer than 15 minutes. While testing and adjusting his equipment at his microphone factory several weeks ago he deliberately stayed between the antennas for an hour! At the end of that time he was beginning to feel so light-headed and dreamy he thought it a good idea to get out before losing consciousness altogether.

An even more spectacular possibility is the Time-Machine effect in connection with rejuvenation. If, as Bob Beck suggested in his article, the MWO tends to take the body cell back down the time-track to a more youthful, more vital period, what would happen to a person who stayed in the field of the machine for four hours? Would his vibratory rate be speeded up to where he would disappear completely? Like the hero of H.G. Wells’ “Time Machine”? Anybody want to try it? It seems, from hints George Van Tassel has been dropping over the years, that his Integratron at Giant Rock, California might do something like this — if and when he gets it working! As I recall, both George and the Canadian Saucerian, the late W.B. Smith, spoke of the four dimensions of electricity: 1. is the electricity moving in one direction along a copper wire, 2. is the magnetic field around the wire, 3. is the static charge created by the first two effects, and 4. is Time — or the “tempic field” as Smith called it. The Time Field equates with Space, where consciousness is everywhere present. Seems to me Lakhovsky’s Multiple Wave Oscillator is a gadget which gives us the opportunity — for the first time — of approaching the Time Field with scientifically acceptable equipment, operating in known frequencies. Remember, that with its circular antennas it operates on the vortex principle. Each individual antenna in the group is a segment of a 60 degree cone. The 1/2 in. gaps, at alternate l80 degrees from each other, conform to the alternating principle and give a damped or pulsed wave.

THE SPACE AGE EFFECT

Copies of our November journal have gone all over the world. Each day’s mail brings new orders. We are confident that Lakhovsky’s invention, far ahead of its time in the 1920s and 30s, has been given a new lease on life and will be pushed to its ultimate development on every continent. There will be vigorous opposition from the right-wing conservatives and reactionaries. Their resistance will furnish the platform from which electronic “medicine” will eventually sweep the world. I see the day when a device, similar to the MWO, will be a standard part of every home bathroom or cleansing center. You will consider it as necessary and as routine to take an electronic showerbath, as as to take a water bath. Home from work, tired, dirty and discouraged, you strip, flip on the MWO switch, and while shaving, doing your hair or whatever, re-balance your whole system with a two or three minutes exposure to the pulsing waves from the oscillator as they flood the whole room. For the sale of the house of the future it will be as important for the ad to say “shielded bath with MWO” as it will to say “tile bath with radiant heat”.

Mr. Skilling told me he was tired and “dragged out” after processing dozens of volunteer “guinea pigs” late Saturday afternoon. Before shutting down the equipment he sat in the nail-less wooden chair between the antennas and gave himself a three-minute shot of pulsed waves. Refreshed and revived he looked forward to a good dinner and the full evening program.

I don’t know of a better Christmas gift we could have given the Associates than the idea and the plans for the Lakhovsky MWO, researched and so generously offered us by Bob Beck in the true borderland science tradition. Now it is up to you to carry it forward in your own individual way. We welcome your comments, observations and research data as you develop equipment and a testing program.

In addition to copies of Mark Clement’s “The Waves that Heal” and Georges Lakhovksy’s translated “The Secret of Life”, we offer a collation of MWO material in the “Lakhovsky MWO Handbook”:

The Lakhovsky Multiple Wave Oscillator Handbook

“Chock full of schematics, diagrams, research notes, patents, pictures, ideas and suggestions for advancement and refinement of the art, this is the only source which contains the many diverse opinions as to the actual construction details of Lakhovsky’s original MWOs, and this new edition contains many new and updated circuit diagrams as well as new pictures taken at Lakhovsky’s home in Paris! You may have heard of different types of devices — this book shows you how to build them all, with reports from researchers who have. From simple experiments with copper coils stimulating the growth of plants to different types of electrical circuits and antenna patterns used in cellular regeneration research, this is THE MWO BOOK for experimenters and researchers.”
